Out the door price (with tax): $14,115.
Pleased with the work so far. It took a few days longer than 1 week, but they wound up adding some additional parts (fuel lines, a handful of other hoses, and a couple of sensors) while still coming in under the estimate.
Truck runs smoother than ever, though I haven't noticed any significant changes in power or compression braking.

Yet another reason to protect your credit:
Annual insurance cost with good credit: ~$9000 (AA rated insurer, $1m auto, $1m GL, $250k cargo, 0 physical damage)
Exact same insurance with bad credit: ~$12,000
(I had an insurance broker transpose my middle and last names when running the credit report. Apparently the other guy has terrible credit.)csmith1281, Grijon, tsavory and 6 others Thank this. -
this idea that my credit rating is directly proportionate to my driving skills is ludicrous but popular notion

The biggest complaint about credit scores is that African-Americans & Hispanics tend to be disproportionately represented among the lowest credit scores, so some folks call the model racist.

well then i am irresponsible so the people who struggle to get by
pay more then they can afford for insurance
then become leeches on the tit of the government
yup that makes perfect sense to me
a better credit score certainly makes me speed less
it might mean i drive better equipment that is safer on the road
I might be old fashioned pig headed and senile
but these arguments wouldn't win a 10th grade debating class in 1970csmith1281, blade, CanadianVaquero and 3 others Thank this. -
You can't argue with the facts they're clear cut. It is a good indicator of someone who takes care of responsibilities. If I were ever to start my own company and hire or lease on drivers I wouldn't even consider anyone with poor credit.

In the case of insurance underwriting and other risk assessment, a low credit score is an indicator of risky behavior and poor decision making patterns that are proven to increase claims. Another interesting use of credit data is with evaluating government security clearances and job applicants. A low credit score suggests a greater temptation to financial fraud, or a more willing tendency toward bribes or other unethical business practices.
