Knox to North East is ok rates but back to Knox stinks unless you go cheap to Midwest then to Knox.

They have to get rid of some of those 9 series trailers. Had one yesterday where the marker light fell out because the frame around it rusted out. another had puddles of water inside by the nose. POS.
What get me is, they sell them off to O/Os who use tape and rubber bands and run them some more.

I had one trailer and the part that was holding the license plate was so rusted out it was dragging on the road and only held on by the wires, I'd say thats my biggest problem with SNI, so many crappy trailers.

yup PA and never ending hills.
It's the worst during winter because you never know if there's a pile up on ice on the other side the a hill.
I have seen more accidents in PA all over and VA on 81 than anywhere else.
Usually during winter it's mostly people that slide off the road into ditches that goes on around those curving hills.

Speaking of PA.. here's some of the roads I went on with my load that delivered in downtown area of Pittsburgh.
It was the Pitts and I really earned my $3 a mile

This turn here was my favorite.. some freaking "truck route" eh? If my tandems weren't up there's no way I could make this turn. As is I nearly ran my trailer over the support beam there next to the stop sign.

yup went on the bridge too:

yup TA9 series.. real winners there!
It's only been that specific series I've had issues with the tandems on.

Going to Chicago for the weekend paid off for me.
I got a near $3 a mile drop and hook load going to St. Louis area and planned myself out for a few more days.
Right now on the books there's $5,126.47 in revenue for the week ending Monday evening.
On roughly about 2540 all miles. I went out of route a few times to avoid BS roads.
That's 8 loads in 7 days. No Northeast.. furthest east this week was Pittsburgh area.
After expenses I'll be looking at over $3000.. probably closer to $3100..
Tuesday morning I start off the pay week heading back to St. Louis for delivery Weds morning. It's around 370 all miles at $2.12
Didn't really work that hard but I didn't have to because I got good rates.

BUT there's a big butt my next load is a relay and Schneider already told me is delayed.
I've got all open window appointments coming up but still this load is pretty delayed.. I won't know for sure till the morning. If anything I'll have to manipulate my sleep cycle a bit to pull the loads off. (which isn't a big deal as I did that near daily when I was a reefer driver)
Or I can book something else as Schneider told me that it's my call if I want to follow through on the load or not.
I'll see what makes most sense to do in the morning.
At least Schneider let me know ahead of time they're running behind and left it up to me if I still want to do it or not.
So I give them credit there.
As far as my numbers go remember I'm not trying to get home or go anywhere specific a lot so that means I can focus on not having to move this truck for cheap.

I feel you on the CA thing, I plan on going during early fall.
It'll be crap rates but just like PA I need to get away for a bit to do something different.
Seeing the same roads and places all the time burns me out.
I can draw a map in my mind of PA which is pretty sad to admit.
Don't think I could ever be a local driver...
