During this latest go round on the road, I have managed to eat much healthier. I would like to share some tips I've found, and hopefully you will add your own.
My biggest help has been a cooler. I save at a minimum 50 dollars a week, and can store healthy foods.
The best foods I can offer as far as health, ease of storage, and convienince are:
Pre cooked hard boiled eggs, I hard boil a dozen before I head out.
Cereals(Cheerios, Raisin Bran, and honey bunches of oats) with milk of course thanks to the cooler
Yogurt, and Fruit are my go to snacks.oranges, and Apple's seem to be the easisest. It is hard for me to keep a lot of fruit good in the truck.
Peanut butter, and jelly for meals where you have a sweet tooth
Whole Grain Bread,Lean lunch meats, cheese, and MUSTARD not mayo for sandwiches.
Salad, I like the romaine pre packaged stuff with carrots and radish. I also add olives, bell peppers, tomatoes Italian dressing, and either kale or spinach.
I love baby carrots but can't figure out how to keep them from getting slimy. And would also like to be able to incorporate beans, and more veggies into my diet.

The OP is talking about day to day living.

Not a good idea to get in the habit of drinking every time you stop, gets expensive after awhile.

Umm I don't see how eating healthy while on the road, and having a life are mutually exclusive.
I'm going to guess you have a drinking problem. As a result you lack critical thinking skills.
Additionally sitting at some ####ty hick bar, drinking crappy U.S. piss bear, and surfing internet forums hardly seems like a good time. Unless you like liver failure and middle aged ugly bar skanks.

    Rocks and hal380 Thank this.

So sorry this old man can multitask, drink responsibly, eat good food, be a good weight, healthy, good blood pressure and not have to worry about how to store a carrot, heck what I eat, eats carrots,
Plus I'm chatting with a guy that illegally snares bears, and has pics as proof.
Anyone for a clove of broccoli?

That is all irrelavant. Eating healthy foods takes no more time than eating unhealthy foods. So as I said eating healthy and having a life are not mutually exclusive.
Additionally just because you enjoy drinking and chirossis doesn't mean that is the way every one has to enjoy themselves.
As I said, I'm pretty sure your years of alcoholism have messed up your brain. You lack reading comprehension, and critical thinking.
Additionally you obviously have some deep anger issues. If carrots make you upset, I can only imagine what your alcohol related erectile dysfunction will do to you later.
God help that 60 year old bar skank.

I try to eat healthy when I can but I also don't see a problem with a grown man having a drink occasionally. JMHO.
