Canned beans, actually any canned veggies are bad. Loaded with Sodium. You can buy low or no sodium canned veggies.

I had the same problem with the baby carrots by the 3 rd day they had a slimy film but only with the baby carrots.

I heard somewhere that if you use a ceramic or plastic knife that whatever you cut dosent go bad as fast. Anyone else heard that?

I have always used the containers berries come in. Usually eat them with 2 days of purchase. All other raw foods I just store in a soft sided cooler. but I keep the top open. Slimy carrots. I only have that problem with the little bags. Usually within a couple days. May be it is just condensation on the outside. Whole carrots don't do this. I will try the paper towels. Thanks

Some fruits last longer than others. Raspberries and peaches can perish quicker than blueberries and pineapple.
Everyone has an opinion about what is deemed "healthy" We have been lied to and brainwashed all these years by the so called experts who have been trumpeting a low fat diet.
Look where it has got us. Record high obesity and diabetes rates. Sugar is the real demon. Cut out the carbs and you will stand a better chance of losing weight.
I've stopped eating cereals.....they are packed with sugar, especially Post cereal. And of course, there is way too much sweetness in sodas......That High Fructose Corn syrup is deadly and should be banned.
The consumption of sugar has escalated in the past 40 yrs to outrageous levels. No wonder we have a diabetes epidemic. And big pharma could care less about your health. All they care about is stuffing you full of drugs that don't cure anything but give you side effects.
Personally I ditched those coolers years ago and went for a proper fridge.
I've just bought a Breville convection oven but I have to run it via the APU as it uses a lot of power.
But I can bake or broil meats, fish, frozen vegs, just like I was at home.
I use coconut oil, olive oil and butter to cook with. It's all good.
With regards to keeping veges fresh I'm using that FoodSaver vacuum food sealer system that you can buy anywhere.
It's working out good. I had the slimy carrot problem too til I sealed them. Fresh asparagus can go slimy very quickly. So can mushrooms.

I'm thinking about buying that NutriBulllet when I get my power inverter installed. What model of Nutribullet do you use and is it easy to use and clean? And how many watts power inverter do you use? Maybe a 2000 would be best, huh?:biggrin_25519:

Thank you VERY MUCH for this great thread... I wish more truck drivers would do the same... there are way toooooooooo many extremely fat and sick looking drivers out there, who can't even walk so heavy they are... :biggrin_2552: Because all they eat is JUNK... and they over eat on JUNK.:biggrin_2552:

Portion control and total caloric intake relative to what exercise level you can do. Keep a log (we are good at it right?) Of everything you eat and drink. A lot of us should be in the 1500-2000 calorie a day area. Look at your food log, no matter how healthy and be amazed how the calories gang up on you.
Sustainable diets that you can live with permanently, doesn't do any good otherwise. Same with exercise regimen. Build it into your week, every week.

I have stopped drinking any soda 35 years ago... And recently I stopped drinking any processed juice even if it says, organic, natural, no sugar... blah, blah, blah... I read the ingredients and I find that almost all of them have some kind of sugar and some chemical that I don't want in my body... That's why I intend to buy that Nutribullet and start making my own juices... :yes2557:
