Roadrunner transportation from the start

Yes still with roadrunner. They've not kept me as busy as I'd like, I think has more to do with the economy. That and I think inthe past year they have perfected the preloading of pool trailers such that guys like me who bring their own trailer in to be unloaded and reloaded are at the bottom of the list.

Right now I'm saving up to buy my trailer and lease on to somewhere else.

 

Don't look forward for RRTS to improve anything at all concerning terminal to terminal loads. I went bankrupt doing terminal terminal loads, then I went to truck to load Plus that also turned out to be a no win situation. RRTS says 90 percent of gross. It's more like 90% of 60% after brokers get their percentage and rrts agents get there's.. and on top of all that like me arrow truck sales.. they're just not enough KY jelly left.

 

i looking to find out more on roadrunner what is there pay like what can you expect on your settlements, how many miles per week do you run, what is home time like what can I expect I I decide to work for them

 

If you read the last couple posts, things are tough out here. It's like hey this volcano is erupting and the earthquakes and hurricane destroyed our house then someone comes along and asks if it is a good neighborhood to buy in.

Markcurry. You might be getting your self in a hornets nest with RRTS. I just turned in my truck 07/16/2015 This weeks pay $203.00 1st positive check in 5 weeks. No need for me to get into details other RRTS post and threads explains the true nature of a crooked company.

 

Well that sux..... by halfway through this thread I was ready to sign on ...now in the last few pages my smile turned upside down ...

 

for those that are looking at roadrunner the trucks come from the dealer not out against the fence in the company yard and as for complaints I can say that if look hard enough gonna find good and bad at every company what a person decides is their choice not every company is a good fit for every person just my thought after over 15yrs in the industrey

More of the same the last few months. There was 1 single terminal that I delivered to that I was able to reload out within 24 hours. All the rest I had to sit there 2 to 4 days waiting for a reload out. Their best outbound days are Friday, then Thursday then Wednesday in that order. Talked with a team, they said they never sit around like that. I suspect but can't prove it, but say I'm sitting inthe dock getting loaded then a team is inbound, and they have 1.5 loads of product going to the particular terminal, they prioritize the team and make me sit til enough freight is there to finish filling me.

The other option is to call the roadrunner broker/agents and have them start looking on the load boards for freight. We just signed a new contract Jan 1, we got bumped up to 94% from 92% but when you have a broker talking to another broker about a load that originally probably came from another broker to begin with, the rate has 3 hands in it already. Once you agree to the rate, roadrunner gets their 6% from the driver again. In 2015 I used the agents only a handful of times since they couldn't seem to offer over $1.20 x .94= $1.12 to the truck. Instead if I was in a bad area I would just deadhead to the nearest terminal and wait there. For 2016 I intend to use the broker agents more but will be pressing hard for my rate.
