Quiting companies in weeks will do you no good in the long run. I know from experience. Trucking ain't for sissies, but there are plenty still...
Anyone else having problems getting home on time?

But freight has been slow the last couple of months. Been in 7 different markets sitting from 2 to 4 days to reload out. Currently sitting morning #3 in Houston TX, have been assured a load out tonite for Miami FL. We shall see. -
So glad I don't have to work for companies that say "Give us two weeks advance notice of when you want to be home"---that is one of the stupidest things I have ever heard.
I want to be home EVERY WEEKEND. No "if's", "and's", or "but's" about it. Don't make me remind you....just make it happen. And don't tell me it can't happen, and don't tell me there ain't no freight going that way, I KNOW BETTER.
People that put up with that, and live with that, and accept that, have nobody to blame but themselves.
I am completely aware that if I wanna be home every weekend, I can not venture too far from my domicile and/or region...unless a legal "out and back" run is offered out of my region; so I stick to the Midwest, or an 'out and back' to the south or southeast.
Does anybody ever actually LEARN anything from reading these boards? Because it seems like I am repeating myself over and over here. -
We are home every weekend and if I want more days off the only thing I want to hear is have a good time let us know when your ready to roll again truck drivers and these insane hours we work there is no reason you should have to fight to get home. That being f said it's not good to company hop to much it doesn't look good.

If you're running OTR you're not going home every weekend and you don't have to give them two weeks notice for when you do want to go home.
Move along....spectacle13, Moosetek13, A21CAV and 1 other person Thank this. -

My opinion still stands. Go troll somewhere else. -
Then don't post on the Swift forum trying to belittle others!!!
If YOU feel my reply is "belittling", that is YOUR problem. They (Psychiatrists) have a name for that...check into it if it becomes a problem for you.
Go somewhere else to toss out your insults.
Again; if you find an "insult" in my reply...perhaps you feel guilt, shame, and embarrassment by how you allow yourself to be treated by your choice of employer. It is EASILY rectified...by dumping them, and choosing someone who respects you for your skills---IF you have any.
No one here gives a #### about your input on something about Swift you obviously know nothing about.
First of all; how do YOU know that? Pretty pompous of you to assume that every member or Guest on these boards (or even just in this thread) is/will dismiss my point just because I don't, have not, and never will drive for Swift. AND, I don't have to drive for any ONE company to have the experience and know what goes on out on the road.
If you're running OTR you're not going home every weekend and you don't have to give them two weeks notice for when you do want to go home.
Actually, running OTR it IS possible to get home (where I live) every weekend (legally) to and from anywhere in this country. And; if you are not required to put in for home time two weeks in advance, why are so many people talking about it in this very thread?
Move along....
See....THIS is where I have no problem telling you to go pound sand. I will move along when I decide. You are nobody to me. You don't have to share my views, or heed my advice...but you darn sure ain't gonna tell me what to do.
Oh, now I'm really worried
Wasn't trying to make you feel anything...let alone worried; so this statement was a waste of time. If you find yourself having that kind of emotion while reading something a stranger says on the internet, then once again, I would point you in the direction of a good Psychiatrist.
My opinion still stands.
I don't recall you giving an opinion? You typed out a bunch of fueled nonsense....but I didn't see an "opinion" in there (atleast not one that stuck any way).
Go troll somewhere else.
LOL! Yah; I been around since 2008...have over 1,600 posts...and have been 'thanked' over 1,100 times. Been "Trolling" this whole time. Just a ridiculous and mindless statement. Stop it!
Now; back to the topic: No I am NOT having trouble getting home...because I don't put up with it.
