With a Truck and Trailer you can load pretty fast if they would let you load the truck and trailer at the same time. The loading lanes were built just for us and that's the way the company wanted it. But back then it was under the control of CalNav Pipeline and we had had to load the truck then unhook and finish with the trailer. It still only took around 15 to 20 minutes a load.

We very rarely had to split a load. It was one load to one station. When some of the private dealers had problems when ordering we would have retain but that was never taken to another station. Back to the rack and added into the next load. We did 5 loads a day for a standard 10 hour shift. The boss back then told us if we did 6 load we would get paid for 12 hours no matter what. So if you wanted you could take an extra load and get an hour and half OT. Sometimes you could be done in 9 and 1/2 hours and have 6 loads. As soon as ARCO started going away so did those benefits. You can go and checkout our old loading lanes on Mark Wayman Western Tanker Trucks Collection. I drove all the ARCO trucks.

Yessir, all on duty time is paid hourly. The DEF trucks have sleepers so you can choose to sleep in it and they'll pay you, and you can get a hotel and get paid a smaller amount. We have no choice in our rigs.

I love running DEF, gravy work, lots of window time, non hazmat and it pays the same. Haven't done it since I moved to days.

Nice, I can't remember seeing one with that many axles, but I probably wasn't paying attention either.

Only thing I don't remember is the extra axle on the truck, but same length no doubt.
