When I am at the ramp next to a swift truck, the drivers say some thing different. They tell me they film the front and the inside of the cab. Until now I did not fiend any driver which likes it. I am very sure, your recruiter lies. I think the recruiters should know about this and tell the drivers about. Then it would be easier for the applicant to make the decision. Maybe the recruiters gets the benefits of this also and fiend drivers which only wants to driver for a company which has a driver facing camera in the truck.
I think swift should tell the people before the hire and not to lie about.

decent companies do not allow their recruiters to lie. The ones that do are not worth working for.

I think so it should be.
In the case of robbiecox6 it is sad when the applicant makes a decision which (s)he does not would do when they would get the truth from swift recruiter.

We have these stupid cameras in our trucks and they are pointless!! I set my camera off if i turn the corner to fast or hit a bump in the road. It is constantly being triggered, however i had a SRT Driver back in to my truck while i was parked at the TA in Whitsett, Nc, almost came in the sleeper with me had i not jumped up and the camera didnt even pretend to record any of it.... I was told i was doing 11 miles over the posted speed limit when i crossed a railroad track and set the camera off, i told my dispatch that the camera company was wrong and the posted speed limit was 65... they swore me up and down that i was wrong..... These cameras are not to help the driver at all!! 11055366_1038665589477914_7347482314650422736_n.jpg 11811484_1038665619477911_7257203527728778553_n.jpg

Now I'm confused. I read the "press release" and was under the impression the sole purpose of the cameras was to help and protect the driver. "In-cab coach", right? I mean this is clearly investing in their drivers. Swift should get their recruiters on board with this. What a recruiting tool. Who wouldn't want a 24/7 coach to help them?

DocWatson, scottied67 and kutscher007 Thank this.

I think so too. I looked into the web for other companies, and in their websites, all the companies are quiet about the "driver facing camera" like swift uses it. I called a few numbers from the bigger companies, the people which pick up the fon, they know near every thing, but about the "swift safty camera", they tell me, that they don*t know about. I think they tell what ever and don*t care, the only thing they want to get the driver. And hope the driver does not fiend out about before s(he) is hiered.

A lot of throw away trucks running around. Sure they might be 80,000 if you buy a single. But you can't tell me swift and all the other megas aren't getting a reduced rate discount for being continuous supporting customers. The trucks are also nothing special. Just stock everything. No pumps, blowers, hydraulics, pto's, you wreck one and swift has another lined up to replace it. Probably get to write it off on taxes too as a business expense.
