That right there is one thing I really miss about flatbed! That and being able to find a nice quiet spot to park right on the customers property!
What kind of alarm clock do you use?

Flat bed drivers don't have apointments, or if they do they don't care, " customer, your late. Driver, Ya well I'm here do you want it or not because I can come back next week." It really makes up for all the tarping.
KANSAS TRANSIT, tsavory and Mr.X Thank this. -

I get appointments all the time they just are anytime between 6 am and 3pm for the most part.

Lumber mostly, I never hauled a lot of that fancy stuff. But I guess if your hauling time sensitive stuff you don't have to wait in line like a dry van driver. So a loud alarm clock would be good. I like the old wind up ones with the bells, you will get up to shut that thing off.

My phone is set first cuz I like to wake up to the crowing of a rooster. As a back-up I set my Screaming Meanie 5-15 minutes later. Never needed to hear the SM in years.
If no appointments are happening The sun wakes me up.
And my home clock is set to high noon which happens to be 15 minutes earlier than standard time at my longitude. Right now is exactly 4 minutes after 12 o'clock high. -
Google Sonic Bomb alarm clock...been using it for years & it's reliable. I'll carry it when I start driving for sure.

I bought a "Screaming Meanie" once after being warned about 25 times from JB HUNT with a critical load I was under. That Effing thing went off at the right time, but I almost went through the roof of the sleeper. I gave it away a couple days later to some young guy parked next to me.

Until recently I used my internal clock (in my head). My wife has never understood how I do it, but when she says we need to be up by such-n-such time for this-or-that...I just her I will be up 30 minutes before her so there will be enough hot water, and sure enough, 30 minutes before her alarm goes off. I just wake up...however, lately I have lost that ability and had to resort to using the Army bugle call ring-tone Reveille...and it scares me out of bed, and I've never been in the military.
The posts about locking your phone to a certain time zone or airplane mode works too. I can't see spending the money and downgrading to an iCrap (phone) just for the alarm -
I just use the alarm on my smart phone I'm a light sleeper anyway..
