    Here's the thing...

at Big G we get .06 to .10 cpm extra on all loads under 300 miles. So it's working out pretty good actually.

i really like those 298 mile runs at .47 cpm and the 199 at .51.
i'll do those all day long

I took the same approach to a 45 year career in aviation. I changed employers as it benefitted me, relocated when it was advantageous for my career, spent time away from family far more than I should have. In short, I was a selfish jerk, thinking of the end, not the present, and I paid a heavy price in many ways.

Now that I am retired and have two sources of regular income (my pension and Social Security) I don't have to work that hard anymore. And won't. For me, my life now is about checking off 'bucket list' items, having fun while I do them, and enjoying my kids and theirs, my grandchildren. I don't need and will not tolerate the stress; I am already older than both my parents were when they died, Dad from doing pretty much the same thing I did and Mom from emphysema. My children and grandchildren deserve me and I want to be part of the next two generations' lives for a long, long time.

Isn't it great that we can make very different choices? Vat a kountry dis von!

Meh. It's ok. I don't much except for work. A good time to me is a long load and the occasional..... Nope. Can't go there. Not just yet.

I'm in San.Antonio TX. Lucky I'm even getting unloaded today. The BOL says no deliveries on Fridays. When I picked this load up on Wednesday afternoon I told my dispatcher to confirm that I could deliver on Friday. He said he did confirm it. Nope he didn't. This place is having a slow day so they said they will
take it today. This is a new customer that SEC hauls for out of Cherokee AL. I guess they don't want any late deliveries... Lol

I lost interest in "the occasional" long ago...

I hate it when that happens. Or when a revised NaviGo plan sends me 50 miles west to an offramp then back east the same 50 miles, causing me to lose the hours to make an on-time pickup.

Stress? Nah. Just a wee aggravation.

What is a Navigo plan? Sounds like a fuxated computer doing your navigating for you.
