I think it would smart to open more accounts like this to us. I'm sure its cheaper to have ICS doing dedicated accounts rather than Company drivers. The only problem is how many ics are willing to stay with one customer full time.

I know this is going to sound crazy... I get a kick out of working the load board. I love the challenge, putting loads together. I look at averages, more so than looking at what one loads pay. For me to run dedicated, the pay would have to be right.

Everytime I find something steady that gets me by the house, after about three weeks it disappears off the board.

We have 4 ic on my target account out of Newton. They came from choice board. Each one when I asked why give up choice they all one big thing getting home more. The pay wasn't that big of hit for them. We know where we go everyday we don't look for empties or deal with ####ty customers screwing with our time. If we sit more then 2 hrs and we can't get loaded our manger tells use to come back. I know a couple who have newer cascadias also.

and they get paid less by taking those accounts.
I met a dedicated IC with Wintersville.. told me he gets paid $1.20 something, think I remember him saying $1.26
He asked me a few questions because he felt there's no money doing what he's doing.

We average 3000 miles a week. So even at at the 1.20 he's making $3600 for six days plus the extra pay we get on backhauls n shorts. He doesn't have the aggravation of driving around for free looking for emptys no time spent wasting at docks. Also spends at least 2 nights a week in his own bed. It works for those guys. If it didn't I don't think they would stick around.

    God bless 'em...

    Somebody has to do it...

Not me though, I'll stick to my $5000 on 2500 miles and home every weekend, if I want to be...

    Roll on...
