What do you think my real take home pay will be after solo?
And realistic run vs home time (11 Western States)?
Recruter told me about 10-11 days with 3 off if I remember right.
Swift Flatbed, 11 western states and Phoenix CDL training?

It will take you a couple months or so to learn the system and how to maximize your miles, maximize your HOS, and build trust with the planners. Once you get in the groove you will gross 1000-1200 per week sometimes more sometimes less. Under the new pay scale $60,000 per year is not a problem.
Running the western states you won't be putting in home time requests unless you need to be home on a specific date. You will be running to and through phoenix on a weekly or bimonthly basis and will be able to go home when you're there.
There is another option for you called the CMC fleet. It is actually run by a member of this forum schmud0811. His name is tom. It is a dedicated swift flatbed fleet hauling rebar out of CMC. It is only open to phoenix drivers and I believe you need 6 months of flatbed exp to qualify. You will be home every weekend usually on this fleet.Lightside Thanks this. -
Nice!
Only thing about the home time that my or may not be a issue is I'm not really in the phx valley, I'm north of Wickenburg along hwy93. Any ideas on how that may work out? -
Well wickenburg is only like an hour from the terminal if I remember correctly. So you would park your truck at the terminal and just drive home. Or if you don't have a car you would take your bobtail home.
Also make sure you re read my last post I edited in information about the CMC fleet that might work out for you.GWS Thanks this. -
really do they supply lanyards ..........lol......had to

Do you know where the end or beginning point for the run is? Im assuming one of those points is in Mesa at CMC.
-
Yep load out of cmc in mesa. Then go to job sites in az, ca, nm, ut. Mainly ca though. Then pick up a back haul usually lumber or scrap steel and go back to the phx area. Usually you will leave Monday and be back on Friday.

Perfect! Thanks Plant!
Man other than the distinct possibility of not getting a flatbed mentor and ending up with a van mentor most of the time, Swift flatbed is sounding better and better.
The Roehl recruiter says basically my only option out of the PHX terminal is 48 states with 18 day runs and 4 days home. Different from what I've heard and from what I've read on here from PHX drivers. Not liking that so much. And I guess they are NOT providing a room or meals in Phoenix. They were my number one pick but that is fading fast.Last edited: Aug 19, 2015

Roehl is bottom tier from what I've seen as far as pay, equipment, etc. the good thing about them is their 7-7 and 14-7 home time options but those aren't available out west. And money would be really tight. If Swift doesn't work out for you I'd check out System transport instead of roehl.
GWS Thanks this.
