There is no clearing house yet for positive drug test.

    Eventually there will be.

So as of now, you can test positive, and continue to drive a truck....somewhere.

Yep as that is true, there is a state record and in some states it will show up as it will with a background check. However all states can suspend your cdl under a positive and you can't drive with a suspended cdl.

You shouldn't critic other people's choices in life. I drive a truck and take steroids. Does that make me a drug addict? Lol. These threads never go as posted they always turn into some irrelivent crap.

As to the original question: I'm sure if you search long enough and hard enough you will find someone, but I haven't yet heard of anyone being hired within 10 years of a failed drug screen. This industry is ruled by the insurance companies. Most refuse to insure a driver with a positive alcohol test within 10 years, and most won't EVER insure a driver with a positive drug screen.
At least that's the way it was when I had my trucks.

Having you state that he is a self admitted addict is false and judgmental...
