Okay this dude wants numbers without looking through the other threads.

On average running Midwest or Northeast regional I clear between $2200-$3000 after expenses working a full week. That's on usually 2200-2900 miles a week between $1.70-$2.20 all miles.
I'd say 90% of the loads I do are under 400 miles including deadhead.
On some weeks that even means 3 loads in one day.
I've had a couple weeks around $4000 after expenses but those are rare and usually involved me busting my butt and getting lucky on some loads.
How much money I make really depends on how motivated I am to work because the difference between $2000-$3000 really isn't gonna make much difference in my life. So overall I don't work hard.
Also those numbers are when I stay in the money pockets and don't go home.
Last time I went home it was for 5 days, I only worked two days that week and made $133 to me after expenses.
I don't remember how much I spent in fuel but the point is to show that it's important to remember you have $1100 hanging over your head every week and those deductions don't stop when you stop working.
A couple months ago I had my clutch crap out on me. It was covered by the Eaton Warranty but still cost me a week of not working and hotel costs which equaled zero income for a week and minus $1500. When I got my truck back I was pissed off and was determined to make back the money.
I ended clearing $10,114 after expenses working the next three weeks. It wasn't easy and I worked hard.
That might sound great and all but when you factor in the week prior to that run was negative $1500 that put me at averaging $2,150 over 4 weeks which less than I normally earn when I stay out a month.
Before the doubters come.. one of those weeks I cleared over $4000 and posted proof when everybody called me out on my thread.
My current lifestyle has just been staying within the midwest running regional until big rates lure me into the Northeast, once I get sucked into that black hole I run regional for however long until I can get out for a half decent rate and then go back to the Midwest.
So far I rarely go home because I have no kids, no girlfriend/wife, and not even a car. I own a $110k house with a room mate spitting expenses with me so obviously my living expenses are very low which enables a lot of freedom both in lifestyle and in income.
The way I run and my lifestyle obviously is different than most.
That's not to say I will continue to operate this way..
I have been thinking about running hard for two weeks aiming to clear $3000 after expenses each week and then where ever I end up jump on a plane and take a random vacation for a week.
If I ran that way I'd clear over $80k after expenses and take 17 vacations a year lol.
Yes screw ups can happen I realize that so if I ran 3 weeks averaging $2500 a week after expenses I then could take a week off and still hit $80k.
This is just for instance but I know I could pull it off financially.
There's sooo many options, choices etc etc of what kind of lifestyle you could have here and I haven't totally figured it out yet for myself.
So far I've just been wanting to make sure I could do well and save money but I'm ready to have more fun :occasion9:

  5. That's great to know. I've leased for over 6 years. That type of potential is what intrigues me about Schneider. Make 3k in a week, put 1100 on the side for the week you go home, do it back to back weeks and you get to take 2 weeks off. I live cheap so that I can spend as much time with my kids as possible.

How much money you earn all depends on you.
There's lower rates and less loads in the Southern states for example.
If I go home I know I'm going to take a hit even if simply on the rate to go home and come out of.
Last time I came out of my house on a Saturday night I took a 700+ mile load to Kansas city for $1.40.. loads like that I never do but it was the best option I had at the time being I was out of my money lanes and leaving on a Saturday night.

It took me a few months to figure out wtf I was doing before I was able to consistently hit the numbers I am now.
    There's sooooooooooo much to learn.

I don't like to talk specific numbers but I do know that my first week running the board even if I had truck payment this week I would have made over $2K....and since my first payment doesn't start till the Sept 11th settlement...it will be a bit more. and that will be with 2 days off.

    RStewart and freightwipper Thank this.
  11. The day you stop learning is the day you should worry right?! I appreciate it man.
