My volvos use to get hot like that pulling hills mainly. It would burn to,the touch if you drove without shoes and socks. No leaks no open pipes. Just the drivetrain/transmission it's self

Also my passanger side would get hotter because of the dpf filter location. Idk if the cascadia is the same

My husband doesn't seem very concerned (after all, he isn't having any problems with his side getting too hot). How would I get under the truck (it has those long skirt things below the doors and covering the fuel tanks) and TO that area, and what would I be looking for? I've been trying to get his attention to at least look and see if there IS a problem, but he doesn't believe there's a problem. He says it's to be expected because that's where the exhaust is run. But in the meantime all I can try to do is to ignore the fact that I'm a human raisin. It's EXTREMELY uncomfortable and I cannot seem to get him to take it serious. :-(

Maybe it IS normal then? He doesn't get any heat on his side though (or not enough for him to notice anyways). I've had fried chicken leftover and kept it on the floor (on my side) for later and it kept it quite warm. Unfortunately, many bodies don't like it THAT WARM. He tends to get cold easily and with 4 ac vents on his side he can't keep the ac up because it will freeze him out, unfortunately for me though having the ac turned up is the only way my side is even bearable.

Could that be why I smell something "cooking" sometimes?

I can't speak from experience in a cascadia because I've never driven one. But I've had two long term volvos and drove like 10'others and as soon as I'd start climbing donner at weight the floors would start to burn up hot on them. Where you could feel the heat coming up. So I'd say that's probably normal for the cascadia too especially since the dpf/muffler is right underneath you. And it burns at like 1000 degrees or something insane like that.

Maybe throw down some of that thin insulation like they use in cars and then the floor mat on top of that?
Man I know my wife would make my life hell over something like that, of coarse nowadays she don't want nothing to do with "MY trucks" lol.

Go with him next time he takes it in for a PM. When he's not looking, have the mechanics take a look at it. They are going to be under there anyway.

I have THREE mats on the floor and STILL feel the heat. I keep my purse on the floor with a big carabiner keychain and I literally burned my hand on the metal when I grabbed the keychain. As hard as I try NOT to complain - it becomes unbearable many days. I try instead to mention how much different one side of a truck can be from the other side. It's like we are in two different worlds and I guess we ARE.

Your problem isn't the heat coming through the floor ; its the thoughtless , self absorbed prick sitting to your left .

    RustyBolt and Mr.X Thank this.
