After my last stop on Friday afternoon I walked over to get a candy bar from the gas station and then get ready to head back to base. 005.JPG
This is a premo transit truck and not my regular truck, it was attached to my trailer this morning and I took it.

That sucks you couldn't make it to the post office interview. Probably would have been where you stayed until you retired. I know there's a few guys bringing home over $100k a year there.

I didn't know what to think at the time, because I just started at GFS at the time. Well now I'm at GFS for the long haul which is fine. Although GFS probably is a night and day difference from the Post Office ha-ha!

As long as you like it there, that's all that matters. I looked at going there before I went to sodrel.

At least your deal was not making it to the interview. In my stupid, idiotic case, I chose not to go to the interview. I was employed full-time on a golf course at the time. I wasn't making real good money, but it was a 40 hour per week job. What the Post Office was offering was part-time with about 15-20 hours per week to start. I was young and still living with my parents, and certainly could have afforded the reduction in hours, but did I look beyond the "here and now" and toward my future? No...

Like I said, I basically turned down the offer, and stayed put at the golf course. Of course as we all know, that Post Office job probably would have led to a full-time position, and being that it was 25 years ago, I could have retired by now (had I chosen to do so) with a nice pension.

    Young and dumb...

If I hadn't been already employed I would have certainly went and got
We don't have Sodrel up here in Cleveland, but I see them a lot around the Ohio-Kentucky border in Cincinnati. Physically how hard is working for Sodrel?

Yeah we only have 2 main terminals and couple smaller ones. We service Indiana Illinois Kentucky part of ohio and Milwaukee. Physically, there's nothing too it. The trucks are old and they beat you up. Other than that it's just back to the door and they load/unload you. And they're on it. The moment they hear your air brakes set, they're in your trailer, and 25 min later you're on your way.
