I was riding up 81 on nearly a weekly or every other week basis and it's never been all that bad. Just not this year much. VA was ok today except for people skeered of the rain. At least in VA if you hear about it on the radio you can take just about any exit and go around on US-11.

Then again, I live near Atlanta, so it has to be really bad traffic to catch my attention.

Close. Wife is the artist. Her representation of one of my D & D characters driving the truck. Hands on the wheel and shift knob.

Do NOT park anywhere on the shoulders there at x119. You'll most likely get a ticket. They cruise it regularly and will not even bother to make contact and tell you to move. They'll just stand there beside your truck, write the ticket and stick it on your mirror. I used to do the lowes DC there. I know lol real good revenue generator the local PD has going for them there. Each time after that I went in every truck parked there had a yellow present hanging from their mirror.

Wegmans was a pleasant experience. I unloaded there a while back. Was dreading it since it was a grocery warehouse but they got me in and out fast.

    Nice new facility.

That is kinda funny. I rode thru there once cutting from either Walmart or Wegmans down to Leesport to catch a reload one time. Definitely more of a thru trucks only kinda hamlet.

Sounds alright then, thanks x2. The good news is this load is light to begin with, and I think only about 8k left on board going to NY. Hills won't be an issue.

PA I81 Exit 119 has a Sara Lee/Hillshire DC, Gordon Food service DC, Lowes DC, Wallmart DC, and a couple of other DCs all listed as Pottsville addresses

I wasn't planning to, but I'll keep that in mind. I'd stop at the Harrisburg TA before trying to park around there. I think if worse came to worse, I could sneak into the GFS staging lot across the road if I was desperate to get in close.

I've been to the Pottsville DC once before and had a similar experience. I think it has more to do with the people in the area working at those places. The Walmart DC was a pleasure to deal with as well. Get people who aren't human magnets of misery to work in those places they can be halfway decent to visit.

    TruckDuo and PackRatTDI Thank this.

The lady at the receiving window assigned us all a door but said if it had a trailer in it, just back into one next to it, they'll find you.

We pick up a lot around there, usually up near hazleton. Mostly empty plastic jars that go to a nut factory in El Paso....no not my house.

I had to ask the Walmart receiving lady to just scowl at me a little bit so I'd know I was really at a Walmart DC and not somewhere else day dreaming.

allniter, sshewins, TruckDuo and 3 others Thank this.
