There's also a small stop just inside Bloomfield, NM on US64. I park there and go visit my grandparents when I go through the area. Another stop about 15 miles south of Bloomfield on US550.

The truckstop inside Farmington isn't open 24 hours.

I hear you..... but today I didn't feel like a pro at all... :biggrin_25512: Had to pick up at an awfully small place in Ontario... Place had lots of docks filled with trailers and lots of trailers in front of the docks leaving very little room in front of docks... and all trailers were very very close to each other... So close, one had to tie up the door so not to hit anything while backing...:biggrin_2552: And after putting trailer at the dock, one had to unhook and park on the street.... :biggrin_2552:
Well... I tried to set up a couple times but realized that backing was going to be a real ordeal... Besides, my dock was right in front of the electric gate and guard shack... and there were trucks trying to get in and out all the time... :biggrin_2552: and the trailer next to my dock had a refer which made my ordeal even more challenging...
So, I ran to yard dog and asked him to help me with that... and he told me to drop the trailer right there and he would take care of it... :biggrin_25519: I felt a little "bad" for not doing it myself.... but considering the time, the circumstances and all... I am glad he did it for me... :yes2557:
Parked on the street with so many other trucks and after over 2 hrs they called me...
Got the BOL and it said, total weight 45,652... :biggrin_2554::biggrin_2552: WHAT?? This is too heavy... My truck is 35,340... and this is going to be over 80,000 lbs.... This is "deja vu" all over again... :biggrin_25521:
But shipper said that they would not be able to cut the load without a scale ticket...
So.... I sealed the trailer and headed to TA Ontario... Was thinking if I had to go back to shipper, would have to take my 10 in Ontario and re-schedule delivery... :biggrin_2552:
But for my UTTER SATISFACTION, my weight was LEGAL! :biggrin_25512:

    steer 11340
    drive 31980
    trailer 33780
    Total 77100

That means the weight on the BOL is wrong... But I'm not complaining... :biggrin_25519:

So.... I hit I-10 W at almost rush hr... It wasn't too bad...:biggrin_25512:
Was going to drive till the end of my hrs but decided to park early at 22:30 east time at a rest area in CA. Couldn't find a spot on the designated parking area... So, I parked on the dirt lot and after me, lots of other trucks arrived and now the place is totally full...

Haha... You may call me a rookie then... I take my time, move slowly, pull up as many times as needed, go out and look sometimes... Heck, sometimes I even put things on the ground to mark the spot where I need to go... Hey... as long as I put the trailer in there and don't damage anything, that's good for me... Besides, I am no 'olhand or Flying Musician... :biggrin_2559:
And in a place like the one I got yesterday... I didn't mind letting Mr. yard jockey doing it for me... Glad he was there... :yes2557:

Hey Mr. RedForeman... Yesterday I scaled at TA in Ontario... They have two scales... the one with the speakerphone had a driver who was there for a while... the other one was empty.... and there was a person in there and he said I could use that if paying with cash.... Never seen that before... So, I rushed to that scale and the person gave me the ticket and I paid right there... which was AWESOME! I was in a real hurry... and that saved me the time to park truck and walk inside... :yes2557:

@Rocks you still trust shippers to not lie? Lol!

Just throwing it out there, but have you considered changing your screen name to 'Rush' instead of 'Rocks'? Just a thought. Lol
