So I just got a notice that my obamacare plan is going to cost another $40/month next year and it will no longer cover out of state urgent care or prescriptions.

That last point is a non starter: while I have no prescriptions, I am out of state 300+ days/year so if I needed to see a doctor and get a prescription it likely would happen 1500+ miles from home...

Unfortunately, the other 2 choices on the exchange also fail to cover out of state, which is funny because CA has the most expensive health care so they'd actually be saving money.

Has anyone else run into this and found a solution?

The solution? Pay attention to who you vote for this time. Just kidding, the illuminati already decided.

I'm in the same boat. It's pretty messed up. I pay $167 a month for the bronze plan and never use it. If I ever do need to use it, I'll just tell the hospital I don't have insurance and ask for the cash price.

Good luck with that. When I had emergency eye surgery, they wanted 15K. The insurance price was 7 K. My girlfriend just got a 20K bill from the hospital for an overnight emergency stay. Insurance settled tor 8 K.

The BIGGEST reason to have insurance is to keep the hospitals and doctors from charging you whatever they need to pay off their boat. Thieves and crooks, worse than lawyers, always looking to stick it to some sucker that has no choice.

Only solution that I see is to change mailing addresses to a state with national coverage.

    The best solution's I've found...
    • Bend at the knees
    • Take Plenty of Vitamin C
    • Get 8 hrs of sleep
    • Wash Hands Regularly
    • Stay away from the "All You Can Eat Buffet's"
