    Like I said, hourly is better.

    However, there are certain advantages to living on the "Third Coast." I can do a lot more here on a lot less than I could living in Anaheim.

    As I said, it's not optimal. But I can work with it. I'm not missing out on anything.

    It's not just about the money, it's about these companies doing what's right. It seems like drivers are more and more ok with getting less and less, to the point where it's like is it really worth it when you think about it. Not when i can make more doing ltl work then hauling fuel no sir.

    And that's the crux...what the companies want to do. It's a big problem around here.

    Local labor around here wouldn't know the first thing about organizing. They think its evil. Consequently, they throw away their leverage.

    I still do well. Not as well as I did twenty years ago, but then again, I have different priorities now.

    That's the attitude around here even with the union I "i got 20,30,40 years" just looking for the door. Well that's all fine and dandy if your not the next-generation like me.

    I understand. I come from a union family and I can understand how you feel. Just hang in there. Things are changing..

    It's tuff brother, I wish I could retire here but we all know things change real quick nowadays.

    Pacific tank lines man... Poor guys.. And they are locked in to a 2 year contract they have to pay $5k to get out of. The worst part is they don't seem to have any problems filling seats.

    So company drivers have to sign a contract.....? Or am I missing something ?
