the reason I said 26 ft well is back here that is a standard 53 ft trailer. depending on wheel base of tractor you really have to watch over all length of trailer when empty and when you are running a stinger you need to try and be at 90ft or under to avoid being required to have a pilot car in some of these eastern states.

You are right, I am used to being in my part of the world where we can run 57' or longer trailer. I figured running IA to MD would be as a closed 4 axle group on the trailer and that you could get under 90' with the longer well.

Just seems like every where I go they want 29' well.

    Shouldn't you be sleeping?

I would love to have a stretch 55 ton wagon with stinger so I could have the extra deck space. but then that would bring up the empty weight issue for a 7 or 8 axle. and the cost is to prohibitive to buy with the rates like they are!

There is a guy I know in Denver bought 3 of them. His empty weight with a small sleeper 4 axle WS is nearly 65k

we have a boy here that has one with a freight shaker 4 axle he weighs in at 61000lbs but it is a really sweet setup with the low 17.5 tires and low trunuin on the back.

funny thing is tx gives me 80000 on my quad. 4ft 7in spread on my trailer axles helps some times.

Another advantage to a modular bogie is being able to shim the rear bridge to even out the trailer axles (especially in a quad) and as the trailer wears out.
