This sure is a long thread
So I will maybe post this again
My brothers SNI trainer used to draw a small map on the inside of the windshield, showing the after leaving the highway directions to his destination

I had a trainee try to do that.
I stopped him pronto.
He told me that one of the instructors at orientation gave that advice,
and told the trainees to report any trainer that wouldn't let that happen.
I didn't let it happen!
I LOVE clean glass -- inside and outside.
I HATE cleaning glass -- ESPECIALLY inside.
See where I'm goin' with this?
When I mentioned that would just scream
TRAINEE ON BOARD
and if he insisted, I had a
DANGER
STUDENT
DRIVER
sign I could tape to the trailer.
And mentioned I heard that suggestion from the top.
But I didn't mention it was off the top of my head.
HeY!
WhatEVER.
It worked.
It's twue!
It's twue!

I've used dry wipe markers to write on the inside of the driver's window in emergencies, quickly write the registration number of a vehicle before you call the police on him. Only when time doesn't allow other means.

His trainer was a million miler
Besides you liking a clean window is there any other reason your against it???
Sure you would have to train your eye to look past and on the road, but once you got used to it I think its an interesting idea
Plus its not like your going to draw all that huge a map -
I'm talkin' before Qualcom -- back when all we had was the old Trip-Master tattletale and International 9700's were NEW.
If they wanted to do that AFTER I released them and they were on their own -- more power to them. But I noticed that even then, they didn't do it.
Instead, they continued to do it the way I showed them --- a felt-tipped pen and a legal pad on a clipboard. Easy and quick to read, and I could tell when they were readin' and when they were watchin' the road ahead.
The clipboard was on the doghouse.
I don't allow ANYthing on the dash EVER.
However, I have no objections if anybody wants to write on their OWN windshield if they want to. Just not on MY windshield.
Like I keep tellin' y'all ......................
I'm a baaadd man ------->
