    * sigh * .... it appears you didn't pay attention to my post .... * sigh * .... I specifically noted my lack of charm. As for the wit part, Pete is very punctual reminding me that I'm less. Every time I log in he's left me a PM addressed to ....... " Witless " ................ :biggrin_2553: ...... well, not EVERY, single time. He does slack off when he's on Hometime some. But Thanks for the encouragement ! .... :biggrin_25519::p

Well today's adventure took 9 1/2 hours to drive 357 miles because the Grapevine was closed.
Woulda been 150 miles and 3 hours with Grapevine open.

Looks like it's open now. So will get this crap rolling in the a.m.

Beno: remember the TA in Corning (XT 630) has the Taco Truck across the street, They are cash only so be prepared...

:biggrin_25510::biggrin_25526:Hey.... got a heavy load today... scaled the load 6 times.... spent about 1:45 hr doing it... Moved 5th wheel 2 times and slid the tandem several times... Tanks were 3 quarters full...

    First scale...
The 5th wheel was all the way to the back and the pin on the trailer tandem was on the 4th hole from the front...

    2nd scale...
Moved the pin on the tandem to the 6th hole from the front... kept the fifth wheel where it was...

    3rd scale
Moved the 5th wheel one hole forward and slid the tandem to the 3rd hole from the front...
Maybe I should have left the trailer tandem where it was.... anyway...

    4th scale
Moved the trailer tandem all the way to the first hole... BY MISTAKE... :biggrin_25526:should have done the opposite... Anyway... this one was a waste of time... and money...:biggrin_25510:

    5th sale
Move trailer tandem back to 6th hole from the front and kept 5th wheel where it was

Thought that might work... after all, I got that 400 lbs weight exemption because I have an APU...
But in any case, decided to move the 5th wheel one more hole forward just to see what difference that would make...

    6th scale

Although I am over 12,000 on my steer... I decided to keep it that way...
Not sure which scale might be better though.. the 5th or the 6th... over weight on the steer or on the drives?? What do you guys think?
I used to have my steer always over 12,000 lbs when I was in my former company and never had any problem... Now, in this company... they are soooo picky and sooo full of it.. that I become more concerned... :biggrin_2552:

Stopped at a scale station and noticed their panel was showing 34020 on my drives... hmmmm... Can't remember the steer though... :biggrin_25513: But they let me go...

Now I am at a rest area in MO.... going to AZ... I think will not have any problem... hopefully... But not going to fill up the tanks completely...

And BTW, by the look on the weight of that 5th wheel, that tells me that each hole made about 340 lbs difference on the drive..... Which shows that the weight that each hole carries (on the 5th wheel) may change according to the equipment, the way the load is positioned in the trailer, etc... It may be less or it may be more... it varies...

Hate to admit this one, but a panhandler got me in joisey. Anybody want to buy a belt? 1 for $10. 3 for $20......

Think I'll donate them to the homeless shelter I used to work at. Put em to good use, well that's the plan.

Look in the door jam, or maybe under the visor for the steer axle rating -- if it is rated for 12,350 or higher, you're good to go! (even if it is only rated for 12,000, I'd still run it)
