Rates have sucked all year, and it's gettin' worse. Gonna be a belt tightening winter for sure!

Steadily going down, just when I think we hit a bottom....down we go.
SheepDog, Loyds77, Flipflops and 1 other person Thank this. -
Not only flatbeds, dry vans are down like crazy
Loyds77 Thanks this. -
Everyone is hauling the cheap !#$@.
Until the stupidity stops it will continue to get worse. Sadly, a very short organized shutdown or refusal to haul under $2 would turn the industry around pretty quick.
As long as carriers let shippers and low balling broker scum dictate rates... nothing will change.
Here's a positive to this;
More of the ignorant cheap freight haulers will go bankrupt and the industry well get a little bit of a reset to rates and load to truck ratios once enough are gone!!Last edited: Oct 21, 2015

Called a load to a known customer, tql had the load.
Know for a fact they pay $4+ a mile on regional. This load was only 200 miles, step with 10' tarps.
"oh we just covered that for $500 ".
Owner op just donated a days work to tql. He must be a kind soul.SheepDog, Loyds77, freightwipper and 1 other person Thank this. -
Yeah the rates have been dipping dramatically. I'm lucky my operating costs are low, a trip or two covers my monthly expense, after that it's all fuel and tolls. But I can't accept to haul for cheap. Last two months I've barely been driving, just covering the bills and little money to be comfortable at home.
It's a cycle tho. Freight will be up again, just not sure when. One things for sure is next time trucks are in high demand I'll be the most arrogant carrier ever to the brokers or shippers. Terms and conditions will have to be signed that I want if they really nees the truck. Such as ludacris detention rates etc.
Main thing right now is to survive and not stress yourself.SheepDog, Loyds77 and insertnamehere Thank this. -
