My daughter has been working for CFI for three months now. She is a new driver. CFI has done their best to help her in any way they can. She is in the process of moving and has been given the time off she needs, and assured she will get adequate miles when she is back on the road. Her truck has required repairs twice now, and they have paid for her a motel . After reading some of the horror stories on here, I just wanted to tell how fairly she has been treated. She does not have her computer yet, so "Mom" is spreading the word !! This company seems to be a wonderful place for new drivers -

    Good.

Not every company is a fit for every driver. It's hard enough just to find a place where one can be content.

Id like to throw in my 2 cents here for anyone who is interested.

I just recently was hired by CFI not too long ago. As a new student hired on I really aprreciated the first week at Crowder College where they they taught you to just "drive the truck". The pay is good and they keep you moving. You wont sit on a Satuday/Sunday. You will be dispatched and moving. Things I like:

1)the company is debt free and privately owned
    2)pay is good
3)good miles (drivers that have a good work ethic pull in 3500+ miles consistently
    4) almost all the drivers have good safe driving records ( I know CFI has its share of accidents though)
    5) the training pay at .26 cents is well above industry but I wish they required you to do a little more then 7500 miles :( you can do that in about 2 weeks
    6) if you are a bad student truck driver, Crowder College WILL send you home, have a good attitude down there because the folks are pretty nice
    7) I havnt seen a dirty CFI truck yet

All in all for me as a student CFI was a pretty good choice as a first company, or maybe long term. Compared to other companies out there I feel like im in a truck drivers Honor program or something...

If you have a felony or bad driving record CFI likely wont hire you. Just so you know ( not 100% sure on that though)

It will most likely be a "white shadow' now. The red racers are being phased out and replaced with the Conway look.

Jeff hit it pretty good, Crowder is a great school. They have a 4 week program you can go thru, or if you grad from a school Conway Truckload (formerly CFI) does not work with, you will do the one week "boot camp" at Crowder. Don't let that scare you, its a great advanced training training course, and includes skid pad training! (one of the very few in the nation)

Our School was Sage Tech, and I can wholeheartedly recommend them as well. Great program, and one on one training when driving the truck!

We (wife and I) have been with CFI/Conway for over 8mo now and have nothing bad to say. We run team and that is a little different than solos.
When my Mom got real sick, they were great to get us where we needed to go and when she passed, I had no problems getting home or time off.

Equipment: I don't feel a newbie will get any better equipment anywhere. We got a 06 T-600 after training and shortly got a brand new T-2000. All the trucks are pretty new (2/3 yrs or so max) and well maintained.

BOL and hope to see ya in a "white shadow" or used red racer out here sometime.
    Cheers

I thought they called the Conway schemed trucks "gray ghosts" or something?

Well I called and spoke to Christine at CFI/CWTL yesterday. She's sending me some info in the mail. Crowder is booked up til September. I'm hoping to get scheduled for October 27th.

Christine is the best, I recommend everyone talk with her. Tell her Roadie says hi!

Oklahoma school is Central Tech in Drumright. Another good school and recognized nationally as well. CFI/Conway has always done things right and seems like so far still doing the right thing with Conway.

BOL to all, give a shout if I can help.
    Cheers
