Just become a lease operator, according to them you can get rich @ .90 pm. You will also instantly know everything there is to know as an "owner operator ".

I love how people can high jack forums.. Gotta love trolls.
But as far as the craigslist ad; I believe that is taking into account multiple benefits. I.e. Health insurance, safety bonuses, haz mat (and how often you haul it), multiple years with the company to gain pay raises and being northeast regional.
I've been here for a year and will avg. no where near that.
As far as the l/p... It's not a horrible deal. You can make fair money as a l/p here. Their fuel network gives incredible fuel discounts (at the flying j I fueled at, if I were op/lp I would have paid 1.82 per gallon). I haven't seen fuel prices above 2.00 for a few months. Plus they offer a fsc.
Granted it's not much but it can take your fuel cost down to 1.55-1.60 pg.
I'm not a l/p or op but I've done research into Barr Nunns lp (have a physical copy of the contract in the truck) and it's not bad. Only thing that's bad? I hate pro stars and would rather save to buy a truck that won't break down every week. (I've known people who have pro stars and are doing well, I just have had bad experiences with them).G13Tomcat, Southeast Trucker Mike, frank_the_tank and 1 other person Thank this. -
Given the pay rate for OTR, I believe that $50K+ annually, with three days off after every twelve out, is easily achievable. Their pay rate is above industry average for 1-3yrs experience as a Company driver... and they have a pretty good "paid time off" policy, too. I totally agree with Young-Gun that $86K probably includes value of benefits and is for very experienced drivers with them >1yr. In my "brief" experience driving for them, they will get you the mileage promised.

I make north of $69k now at Barr Nunn. Should be closer to $72k next year. I run 115,000 miles average OTR. That's at .555 cents per mile plus band pay, the bonuses, and paid time off.
The regional guys are closer to $60k running 97,000 miles.
Pay starts pretty high for 5 plus years experience and the final cap is way higher than anywhere else. It pays to stay.G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
Their CL ad says '3 -9 days of Paid Time Off every 60,000 miles.' Can someone explain that to me? How do they determine whether it's 3 days or 9 -- or something between the two? Thanks.
