I hauled of load Detroit diesel engines years ago, one of my favorite all time loads. 45,000 lbs sitting 4 feet off the floor in cradles. That trailer felt like it was doing weird crap all the way down to south Carolina.

Yeah, I'm done. They went back on a deal and are going to cut my pay, so I said goodbye.

Going to be hanging up my keys as well. 12 years and a million and a quarter safe miles. Im done working 14 hours a day for 6-7 days and then getting 1 day off in a piss soaked parking lot. Life is too short to be unhappy, and I'm miserable. I miss my friends, I miss working with abused and abandoned pitbulls, I miss not having a life of my choosing. I spent 12 years living according to what a log book says I can do.
Just can't do it anymore, especially with us being governed down to the exact second our trucks move now.

I give you guys all the credit for being able to do it as long as you all have, as I know there are plenty of old hats here

I got offered a hostling job at a chemical company that I worked for. Its swing shift so I could do my volunteer work in the mornings at the animal shelter and go back to school. I had thought diesel mechanics, but it's up in the air. I would enjoy working at a water treatment plant as well. I delivered chemicals to a bunch of them in multiple states and never once saw anyone unhappy and it was always peaceful there( I'm sure it has nothing to do with the massive security lol)

It's against company policy but it's pretty much up to your dbl whether they decide to enforce it or not. I've done it every so often and never been called out on it. I've even saved loads that would have been impossible to deliver on time if I hadn't split my logs. Every dbl I've had hasn't had a problem with me splitting logs as long as I didn't have a problem with doing it.

    CaptainDaveG Thanks this.

Just came across an unknown to me feature on mobile app. On the preassign tab theres a little down arrow. Press it and a small "resend to mcp" link pops up. You ics may benefit when you book a load away from the truck. May prevent a call into support to resend from their end.
