I am working for the Port of Oakland making decent money, but I was wondering if there's any drivers for this company who can share their experience working for Reddaway.

I've been trying to get this job for a while now and I finally got it. I won't be making the same money, but I am attracted to their benefits package and more family time.

I am having a hard time deciding whether I should leave the job I have now

    Any opinions ???

I'm not so sure this thread belongs on here, I'm new to this forum. My apologies!

Since you work the ports you probably don't notice but all their equipment is scrap junk in my opinion. I bet each trailer has 300 pounds of dirt on it. Amazing they get through a chicken coop. When's the last time they bought a new tractor? Not this millenium.

The equipment isn't too bad. I really can't complaint about it. I told Reddaway I needed two weeks to let my employer know that I'm leaving, so I still have another week to think about joining Reddaway. I really want that job, but not sure I'll be happy making less...

I also don't think Reddaways equipment is any better than what I currently drive.

Yeah , leaning towards Reddaway... I am know I'm going to miss the money on the Port of Oakland, but I really want a more stable job. Something that can lead to bigger things eventually...

Then again, if I stay with this job would be much easier to buy my own truck and will have the connections already there.

    Decisions, decisions....

Well a good question to ask yourself how much of a pay cut is it, will your family be able to live off it, are you extra board, and how much will it affect your plans to be an O/O.what's the difference in benefits if you don't mind.

You need to think about leaving your current job for USF. Like said above, will you be extra board? This is the slow time of the year.. Will they actually run you or not.

I took my wife out to dinner tonight and she definitely wants me to stay with this job at the Oakland Port. We want to buy our own truck and start our own thing...
Reddaway pays $18.38 an hour but I heard they have OT available after 8 hours.

The benefits part is attractive only because employer pays for it...

Man, I made $700 in 3 days last week, that's probably how much I'll be making with USF in a week before tax.
I do hear there's plenty of OT available. I wish I could find a current employee from the area that could give me his/her perspective
