4.85 doesn't make me cry it's the fact that pulling 90,000 lbs now feel like 120,000 lbs due to hard pulling

I usually go out and clear a lot of it off, but the rest will come of when coming South. I spent about 40 minutes after taking those pictures to get a lot of it cleared out. Just have to be careful since things get bridle when it is cold.

Isn't that the truth. I was showing about 25psi of boost when I was driving on level ground the other day on the Cassiar by Jade City when they hadn't plowed and I kept pushing snow with my bumper.

Dumb questions, but why not. I don't think a lot of radio stations would be up there on the way, nor satellite radio would have much of a signal, or am I wrong? And do you carry a satellite phone? Couldn't imagine Verizon or AT&T with much service in the Yukon or much outside the major areas of Alaska.

Canada is pretty good about posting signs with the local radio stations for the AM and FM channels, but not a lot of coverage. Satellite radio sucks and seems to work better when heading South. I have some CDs, a 32gb flash drive with music and the Satellite radio to choose from. I have started to listen to some pod casts as well. I do have a Satellite phone and a lot of times I cannot get a signal either. I bought a car install kit with a marine style antenna for the satellite phone and hope it will work better or at least I wont have to stand outside.:)

Thanks! My mind keeps racing to want to give it a go, the last frontier, the biggest challenge of my driving career. It's a mental thing for me to want to prepare for it.

If you want a real challenge you need to get some LCV training and start pulling the doubles in Alaska. A friend of mine does that and his motto is just turn wide and never look back. Two 53' trailers make for one hell of a wiggle wagon. You get some nicely speced trucks with a C16 Cat and 800hp to the wheels. Chaining is a lot of fun too. Four sets of three railers with ice cleets, two singles for the last trailer axle and a cable chain for the passenger steer tire.

There are places on the Alaska Hiway where I had no phone service -none- for 3 days. Nice quiet ride
