I can tell you that you burned your own bridges. I am a l/o here and soon going to retire overseas. I have told Swift my plans to be a seasonal driver for 4 months per year when I am back in the states and they have told me that they have no problem with this at all, and they know that because I will be getting SS I can only earn so much a year. They actually have a program set up for this and then have many drivers that do this. Seasonal work

I had the same recruiter the last 3 times I went back and would be surprised if she were gone. So there has been some turnover amongst the office sitters in PHX?

I have never heard of the place you mention. There are a lot of expats here in Asia, for various reasons, in case you didn't know. The USA is nearly cooked and like I said earlier, I only come there to work. Oh sure, I could teach English where I'm at, but I do enjoy driving until I feel that my health and patience are deteriorating. The country is rotting from the inside out, it's like bloated roadkill.

The thing about it is this:

All of these companies have a hard time keeping people in the drivers seat. There is a reason for the continuous shortage of drivers. The reason is the job just eats up your life in exchange for little money, nothing is ever going to change that in the OTR world of trucking and people need to acknowledge it. If you want a meaningful family life you cannot do OTR and I don't care what anyone says about how they have it all and everyone is happy. Oh sure, you can net a grand a week, but you will run yourself to the extreme to do it and you need to get long length of haul trips to do it with any regularity.

Surely Swift knew what they were doing when they hired me back 3 times. That is how desperate they are and everyone knows it, as is every other big carrier out there. I look around at the quality of the drivers that get hired and am just stunned. Last quarterly report to shareholders said that they were going to reduce the fleet by 500 trucks, attrition will take care of that in a few months, so it's not a big deal.

February is traditionally the worst month because of all the winter accidents and such, so a there will be a culling in February also.

Now if I could just get a copy of my DAC somehow.........

He probably would, except for the taxes. He needs to maintane a level of citizenship for that reason.
Similar to those who split time between states here, like moving to Florida for the winter and then moving back north for the summer.
They must be in one or the other for like 6 months and a couple days to keep residency, or be forced to pay certain taxes, that others might not have to.

That and I know how far my pension will go over in the Philippines. Over there it is about $1,200,000 pesos per year. Most of the executives over there earn about 6 figures. You figure how I can live over there, plus also dual citizenship. There are many ex pats that are leaving to live in Asia
