Six, this seems where you normally suggest letting Darwin take over. Jumping into a very complicated segment of the industry when one lacks even basic terminology seems like a prime situation to leave to old Charles and his theories.

Of course I do. I was trying to make a joke. I guess it fell flat or didn't translate well in text.

Nope Toledo, but that was 20 years ago. He may be pals with Jenny Craig now.

no one can stop you if youre determined, but I hope you invest some time to understand costs associated with running OD OW. Moving a box load of toilet paper or truck load of lumber is very different from moving a high priced piece of machinery that requires a special trailer, half a day to tarp, pole car, chase car, route survey , etc..
don't mess it up for the guys that do this and make a living doing so.

I had someone call me for a stretch load, gave him a quote and he just about had a heart attack , he said that was way higher than what his buddy told him. I said ok , I understand , give it to your buddy.
He replied that his buddy couldn't do it cause he pulls a step.... so calling a step deck dude for a rate on stuff he cant or doesn't do was lame... just a quick example for ya.

You mean like offering a load out of OK to TX that weighs 100K at $3000 all in, when the permits are $2000 and the escorts at least $500. If you don't have a feel for the underlying costs then how can you quote a price to your customer?
