    I'm not sure about that. I thought e-logs were satellite communication. Many a time when I was on e-logs with no phone reception I still had e-logs and GPS running.

    Some are cell phone based. Mercer's are that way.

    Qualcomm MCP50;

    Noticed the other day it said Sprint.
    No wonder it doesn't work half the time.

    I think the communication systems are all cellular based aren't they?

    Teletracs uses the ATT network.

    I'm thinking the OP may have overhead a driver caught up in a lie. Probably has a bad service like T-Mobile and didn't have reception for days. The wife and girlfriends complain. He invents a story just short of tin foil hat syndrome, then keeps retelling it so he can start to believe it. Kind of like an actor rehearsing his lines.

    T-Mobile doesn't have bad service, but it is weak in certain areas.
    Sometimes not there at all.

    But I had the same problem with Verizon at times as well.

    The thing is, T-Mobile is so much cheaper.
    A 20GB line with Verizon cost me $120 per month, while I spend $40 with T-Mobile.
    And yes, I have a few days more a month that are weak or not there on T-Mobile. But the cost savings are worth it.

    My verizon don't work half the time either. And it looks like your box isn't capable of the newer technology. And being able to use the 10,000 new cells that were added to the existing cell network.

    You boys on the east coast have it made compared to us boys on the west coast. The west coast don't have half the coverage the east coast does.
