I need some 4x4's. Called every lumber store in town all they have is pine and treated pine. None of them have any hardwood. I am located out in the plains so no lumber mills anywhere remotely close to us.

Go by Home Depot or lowes. When I delivered there and had extra dunnage I let them keep it and they just pilled it up out back. Also go by a truck stop and find a O/O who has some on their deck and offer to buy some. I've sold some of my dunnage off the truck before to help a guy out

Lets see... well theres dunnage and more, thats on third, and theres dunnage depot, thats on third, or theres ambicrombie and dunnage, thats on third... come to think of it there all in the dunnage district.

But other than that, try pipe shippers, we have dunnage pilled up in and out of the building.. dont really care who takes a few...

I got my beveled 4x4's at Tri City Canvas, Granite City, Il. They have held up well. I got mine on my way through St. Louis. I do not know if it is worth it if you have to pay shipping charges.

What are you loading? Do you absolutely need hardwood, or could you double wide the treated to make up the strength difference?
Just a suggestion to get you going.
If you haven't yet, try calling the local farm implement dealers, they may have some kicking around.

I have just been hauling some equipment as my trailer has a dovetail and ramps but I need to haul 3 loads of oilfield pipe next week.

I get that I can probably pickup up some here and there from shippers and drop offs but I have zero right now and don't want to show up to pick up a load with nothing to set it on.

Find your local millwork or just general cabinet/wood company. They will have extra boards lying around, probably free, maybe might cost you some change.
