Hanging out with The Hot Chick watching Muppets Most Wanted. Sublime humor. And Christoph Waltz, dancing a Waltz (Blue Danube).

Sounds like you handled the situation with a calm demeanor and didn't fly off the handle and rant like I'm sure some drivers would have done, Probably why you got kudos and detention from the co.
Captain Zoom Thanks this. -
[QUOTEtrucks Captain Zoom, post: 5001898, member: 74269"]Looks like. I've been here 5 months and they're still treating me like they're trying to impress me. It encourages loyalty.
My only beef is the succession of older trucks. The Hot Chick has pointed out that they're not bad trucks--this one has 325K miles on it and is overall in pretty good shape, especially after the last service where they fixed everything I wrote up but the worn seat cushion (Gotta order the part from Mexico; you wanna wait?).
The beef is they're gonna sell this truck soon and I'm gonna have to move again (trade cycle is before 385K miles). There doesn't seem to be an abundance of double bunk units in the latest couple of batches of new trucks, so I have to take older trucks as long as The Hot Chick is with me.[/QUOTE]
Older trucks? ?????? My current truck is a 2003 Pete. I bought it new in 2003. One of the few things I learned in 20 years of trucking is trucks can last a long time. The miles really don't matter much. It's whether they are dependable. I used to think newer was better. Just my opinion. Funny thing is, my old truck is better than most of the new stuff. Never been on a wrecker. Called
Road service once, because I ran over a sheet of plastic and damaged some airlines.Dominick253 and Captain Zoom Thank this. -
Okay, your point is well taken. I should have said, "older than the rest of the fleet," and I recognize that I sound like a spoiled little bint to gripe about a truck with less than 340K miles and it still works. The real complaint is the repeated headache of relocations--I've moved four times in five months. It's actually a minor complaint when looked at in the aggregate--I recognize that.
Dominick253 and Lone Ranger 13 Thank this. -
She will be mine... Ooh yes, she WILL be mine. I shall call her, "Sapphira." She shall have a 6-speed, and her suspension shall be upgraded with magnetic shocks, and her exhaust shall be Borla, and yea verily she shall possess a chip by hypertech, and she shall be magnificently magnificent in her magnificence.

Powerball up to $800 million.
Saw a guy last night gleefully spending his entire paycheck on tickets. This morning he hit me up for breakfast money.
Grim.Dominick253 and TRD Thank this. -
I might buy a ticket or two, just for the halibut. A jackpot that big, you get the lump sum, is still about $250 million after taxes.
That's a whole lotta Corvettes. -
