The truck that your getting, that was a repo what's it's name and color scheme. What was the price difference in a repo compared to the others.Does DB kustoms explain or mentor drivers on how to be successful working the Quality Carriers system.Did Db say why some of their leases fail and were repoed.Do you no what the average cost of a new Db kustom truck runs.I hope you end up being one of the success stories.Ive enjoyed reading your experience.Keep it coming

I think the credit score isn't that high, like 650 or something, and they shot for a lower payment of $550/wk, plus other expenses. If the numbers are still good, I think the guys are averaging like $1.50/mile. Rix might have more info.

I will do my best with the limited knowledge I have so far. When you take a repo, you only pay what is left. My example, and let me tell you I got extremely lucky, my payment will be about $400 a week for about 3 1/2 years. I will be getting one of the very few Pete 386's they customized. It has a Detroit 485 multi-torque with 2 years left on the warranty; which covers the engine, Trans, and rear ends. It is an electric metallic green, and is headed to the body shop. It looks like somethin that belongs in Key West. The previous owner got into an accident with it. If you get a fresh customized truck it comes with a 4 year warranty (Engine, Trans, rear ends) and I believe those payments are around $650 for 5 years. Every truck has a balloon payment of around 20k at the end, but QC will allow you to continue payments, get a bank loan, or pay it off. QC does not want your truck, they want you to succeed so they can continue to grow. These guys don't mess around - every fresh truck immediately goes for an engine, Trans, and rear end rebuild - before it goes to the paint shop. 95% are Big Cats and Eaton Fuller 13 or 18 speeds. They primarily customize 379 and 389's with the occasional KW W9.

Credit score is part of it, along with credit history, work history, and even you as a person. They like it when you have everything; like hazmat, tanker, TWIC, and even a passport. My credit score is about a 650 I think, and I have everything except a passport. I have a long credit history, but my score is hampered by debt to income ratio right now. They don't require you to pocess a TWIC or passport at the time of application; but it will help you look more appealing; especially the TWIC or the receipt where you applied for it recently.

Dave and Dan Brown will mentor you for 2 years, and they said most guys quit calling them after a few months; they are always willing to help.

I did ask about why some get repo'd, and for confidentiality purposes they can not give specifics. They did say 75% has been due to health issues and even death. The other 25% stupidity (like a dui) or wanting to be home to show there truck off to there friends and family rather than driving. Or sitting a truck stop giving out autographs. Lol.

As far as money: The Browns have a few trucks of their own leased onto QC, they said after all expenses their trucks clear $1500 to $3000 per week. It all depends on how you run and if the load your under goes to the follow week - because it delivers on a Monday or something like that.

I will keep you dated as I find things out - the good and the bad. Let me know what other things you want to try and find out and I will. I go to Louisville for orientation on Monday.

    stormy379 and Jrdude5 Thank this.

I'd stay here even though firespock leased his truck through an affiliate and did not go the DB kustom route. The same people would be interested in both ways.I'm sure some would also be interested in how the Keys to Quality lease has worked for some people.I had heard DB did mentoring and was wondering what that was about. The comment about giving autographs at truck stops was funny though.I have heard some Quality drivers say they did not think the fuel stabilization program was handled fair.Never was clear why they did not like it.Maybe you don't get a fuel surcharge?

I will ask about that and let everyone know; the fuel surcharge. I did find out today that detention is $76 an hour after 2 hours - as long as you are on time for your appointment.
