I think it would depend on how much of an impact is registered by the camera itself.

 

I can imagine if they caught the shooter, his lawyer would argue for inadmissable evidence

 

When the parking brake is set and the truck is shut off both the inside camera and the sound recording are shut off .

so.......there is a way to defeat the camera...... back the slacks off and run the truck with the brakes set lol

 

And do it with the key off...

That is not true.

The camera is always on, 24/7, no matter if the truck is running or not.
Swift has stated this many times, and it is stated in the Drivecam page in the Portal.

It even mentions that in the event the front curtains are drawn while you are in the sleeper the inside video would not be able to be viewed. That means it is still recording the inside view.

I doubt the sound would be shut off in any case, as the audio can be as valuable as the video in any incident.

 

Yep your right the cams that swift have still record/ save, video/ audio engine shut off or not brake applied or released. Only way to stop it is to turn the master switch to the battery off so it gets no power what so ever.
