In Germany, besides not kicking truckers out of parking areas, they're working on a parking guidance system to help them find parking.

I think the attitude in this country is something like screw you, we're automating everything, so until parking is obsolete nothing gets improved.

Oh there is a sign coming in the rest area alright it says no overnight parking lmao.
I didn't see them kicking out any of the all night trucks parked in parking spots.
And most were idling when I used the bathroom,by the way.
So there are no signs about parking on the shoulder with in the rest area and we are booted out.
There are signs that say no over night parking but that law is not upheld.
So tell me why some laws when it comes to parking are upheld while others are not??
I passed 4 truck stops really??
I didn't even come thru kenly I came in from the east on 64.
So you think I should have drove 40 miles south to kenly and 40 miles back north the next morning to get back to where I started.
You no what happens when you assume Lmao.
You entirely missed the Point of this whole exercise.
I am from New York and live two towns over from Hope Rivenburg who is the widow of Jason Rivenburg.
Jason was a driver who was robed and killed because he had to park in an abandoned gas station in South Carolina because there wasn't any truck parking available.
Hope has worked tirelessly with legislators and organizations like ooida to build more truck parking.
The problem has become that our government and a lot of private citizens don't want us parking any where.
They can't do with out the goods we bring but want us out of there sight the minute the truck is unloaded.

NC mentioned a few months back that they are going to enforce parking on the sides of the ramps/roads

That does severely limit your options coming out on 64 to 95. Gotta give you that.

All you said was going north on 95. If you're gonna tell the story, tell the whole story to start with. That influences the responses you get. Knowing the direction you were coming from, yes you were in a bad spot if you were short on time.

There is no good answer. the public perception and the parking issue will not change. Not in our time on the road. Maybe for the next generation. Maybe not.

If you were short on time and that ramp had been full, what was your backup plan? As you already know now there wasn't really anything after that rest area except the pilot in garysburg which is a nightmare even during daylight hours until Virginia.

Where did you end up parking?

At the risk of sounding petty I never said I was running up 95.
I said I was in the north bound Nash county rest area on 95.
You can't just assume because I was on 95 north in nc that had to have started at mile 1 north bound 95 at key west
    Florida.
I'm not trying to be a pain but serious question.
Why does nchp enforce the parking on the sides law but not the over night parking law?
I can't elaborate on where I did spend the night because there are some who will say I shouldn't have parked there either.
    Desperate times desperate measures............

Well you were on 95 going north to get into that rest area regardless of what your actual routing was so don't try to come off being so evasive and vague after the fact. Nobody ever said you started in key west and your original post made it sound like you were running 95. There are places to park on 64 if you'd kept your eyes open.

They almost never bother anyone in a marked parking spot. That's already been said. It's already been documented on at least 2 posts in this thread why they are enforcing it.

Plan better next time. If you had such desperate measures wouldn't have been needed. I'm done with this thread.

I thank you for being done with this thread.
Maybe if you man up and plan better you won't have to get so up tight with this thread LMAO
