The corporate owned terminals are Ft. Worth and Albany, NY. The 4 or 5 terminals around Chicago are affiliates, and I have heard good things about them - especially the ones in Lansing and Joliet.

Here is what she used to look like, and will look like again. Now she will have dual 8" pipes coming from behind the sleeper.

As far as dispatch: you only deal with a few people from your home terminal. It's not forced, and you can refuse it; but there is no board to pick off. This is where you and your terminal get to know each other, so they know what and where you like to run - and how you like to run. Keep in mind a terminal is not going to want a good driver to transfer. If I ever need to transfer I hope my terminal fights kicking and screaming not to loose me. This is serious stuff we will be hauling, so you're not going to need to worry about the rates. CH Robinson can't broker these loads.
A lot of these loads are out and backs, especially if the tank can be top loaded - instead of going to a tank wash. So my terminal may give me a Texas to Illinois, but the pay might include me bringing the empty back to Texas. If not then they will get with the nearest affiliate for me to wash then reload.
It's truly not the normal, same ole way of trucking. The dispatcher is not looking to punish you for refusing a load or trying to pawn some cheap crap on you. If they like you and your way of doing business, they are going to work with you to keep you. It's a win win for you and QC. -
Be prepared for a large amount of tank wash time (unpaid).....
and the only loads another terminal will give up is something their guys don't want.
I do wish you the best . And it is a better than average deal but it had problems ..... And I am listed as eligible for rehire.....Rix43 Thanks this. -

Dude, that sounds like hauling fuel. We could load for back hauls, but we weren't always near the refineries/pipelines to do so. Luckily I'm on a dry van/reefer fleet that basically does that now, but it could change without notice.
Did you see a Maroon W9 when you were at DB's? I think that's the truck I'm going to lease. I really want a White W9 with a Cat C15, but that one with a Cummings will do. If everything goes well I'll hire a driver to take it over (if that's allowed) so I can get what I want. That's the hopes at least. -
If you look close in front of "Snowman" you will see that gorgeous maroon W9 is still there. You can purchase a second DB Kustom truck after 1 full year, so come on aboard and do it.
