Sometimes it seems as though they trip over dollars to pick up dimes.......this shouldn't be a science project. Keep at least 'x' number of Qcom black boxes on hand (based on historical usage and need), take the old one out, put the new one in and roll in 30 minutes or less. This crapola of waiting 24 to 48 hours while idling is absurd. Every one of those new boxes should be programmed and ready to go out of the box and they should have a station / data port where these things are plugged in until needed in order to keep up with updates. Simply type in the driver number, hit 'GO', it downloads all your information, take it to the truck, plug it in and you're ready to rock. I mean, come on people! It's not like we just started using them last week!!

That's how it was at my last company. The units were in the shelf plugged in ready to go, just assign it to a driver/truck and you were out the door in 30 Minutes or less. But then again that company had its own phone apps for android and iPhone so you could get all your qc messages and even respond to the messages from your phone. So they were a bit more technical savy.

It's stupid that they even need them anymore. Just put a tablet in the truck and have the truck be a Wi-Fi hotspot. Truck reports to the tablet. If the tablet doesn't have a signal, it store all data, until it does....

    Or something like that.

16 years ago when I first got a qc it was great and cell phones had Amber screens and block letters. There is no reason to have to archaic POS i, the trucks when there is cheaper, and more reliable, MODERN equipment to use

SNI uses technology to reduce productivity, not increase it.

But then again it goes back to the culture they want in the company. Substandard is not acceptable there where here at schneider It seems substandard is the norm.

Schneider uses the technology that it's heavily invested in from qualcomm's beginning.

Sni claims to be at the forefront of technology but in reality they aren't even in the game.

We can't even update our eta's from our phones.

Here is a good example of what I mean about culture. Last night I was trying to blind side back into a parking spot. 2 drivers from my old company jumped out of there trucks to help spot me while 2 Schneider drivers just sat there looked at me like I had 3 heads and was going to kill with my looks. It's all about the #### culture that is fostered at the top.

Good luck with that... I work for some small companies that weren't so into computers like this company and they still couldn't figure out what the hell they were doing... Just a known fact society is getting dumber by the day... Lol... I lay a lot of that blame on technology... technology essentially made people have no common sense whatsoever... Lol

Dunno about all that.....I've helped plenty of people back in......rain, snow, cold, hot....I try to not let the conduct of others determine mine. That said, my rule of thumb is, 'if you'll get out and look, I'll get out and help.' If you're Johnny Hot Shot who's got it all figured out, then by all means, rock on.

I am not saying everyone here is that way, just the majority is. Usually the guys that get out and help here didn't start here or were raised with respect, common courtesy and common sense.
