Then he would have to sleep in a recliner on the ships deck... Pack some sunscreen.

Starting to think that I need to call recruiting. I have a home daily job now, but I am bored stiff of going to the same bunch of places all the time. Health insurance is not all that great either.

Abilene sends you all over for sure... I was just talking to my wife about a "home daily" gig and the same thought crossed my mind... Just driving the same route(s) every day would be tough for me... I do like the variety of OTR... The last time I was out, I went from VA to OR to WA to NV to AZ to FL and back to VA... Then a quick run to NJ to SC then home for four days of home time... It was so awesome to see so much of the country... Each state has its own look and feel...

Those trips don't happen all the time and it will probably be months before I see another one like that one, but wow... What a trip.

Give Rusty or Brian a call and check it out a bit more... You might just like what Abilene has to offer.

    Stay Safe,
    MD

I received my letter from the TSA today, for my hazardous materials endorsement, one step closer to the goal. I'll be testing next week and hopefully on the road east week after. I'm excited to say the least. ;)

Sad part is (and we've all heard and read the horror stories) is that there are many companies who wouldn't give two brown piles of human excrement what a driver went through, was going through, or what was needed in a dire situation such as what John went through.

I have to say that Abilene, judging by John's (whom I personally know) and others testimonies, is a stand up, classy outfit who really does care about their drivers!

I wish more were like them...

Ya, sure seems that way... No company is perfect, and Abilene is no exception, but they sure seem to get their stuff together when needed.

But have no fear, in a few weeks we will all be back to venting about other stuff... LOL :D

I had to load 2 loads last Tuesday before I started my run
Took an extra 2 hours but saved the other guy an extra 10 hour break

I'm en mi casa. Got home last night at 7pm, with a 25 minute violation. Oops, I made a concerted decision, to drive the last 25 miles in violation to get to the house and cuddle with my wife.

In response to the posts about how the company stepped up for me, I'd like to think they would do the same for anyone in need. My work ethic and job has never once deviated once from when I had my first job in HS as a salad bar tender. I just do my job, I know what is expected, and ask for nothing. Now, that doesn't stop me from venting when I need too, or question something that doesn't make sense to me. If my job keeps me in Abilenes good graces, then I must be doing this job correctly.

Today is dedicated to getting things done around the house in preparation of our cruise, but first I need to run down the road and pick up this empty trailer.
