3rd swift review. My opinions

Yea refer loads are a pain and why I went dry van, before 14 hour rule it was a pain now I can only imagine how much hassle it must be. I pulled meat and it was always in a hurry to meat markets like hunts point etc. same pay as dry van. Warehouse grocery places are full negative people who hate their lives and want you to know about it.

 

You should see other Trucking Companies lounges, then you would update your opinion about Swift's just saying

 

Some terminals are a little bit better than others, but overall they try. Being stuck sitting in a term is not like sitting at home in your living room and in a nice hotel room either. It can suck, really, and with any company your with, and yes, some companies have real dumps for their drivers, I know first hand that they do.

 

Like the so called lounge in salt lake

 

Well actually that Central Terminal is a real step up from the old Swift Terminal. Edwardsville keeps coming to mind, a big empty room with lots of chairs, and a little quiet tv room. Still it seems that no drivers lounge can compare to just sitting there in your own truck, with all your own toys and just enjoying life.

 

I'm at the Memphis terminal right now, and there are many drivers sitting in the lounge watching whatever is on.
Me? I'm in my truck cooking dinner and watching what I prefer.

I don't need to be around other people, and I certainly don't want to watch what they all seem to always watch.

That Salt Lake terminal we took from Central is nice in some ways, and better in nearly every way than the old terminal.
With one exception. There are no coffee machines anywhere in that place. If the cafe isn't open you are out of luck.
OK, two. The inspection process to get in. It takes so long sometimes, so if that is on my fuel route I'll just skip by and call after I'm far enough away.
It has actual shower rooms, instead of stalls. Not that I would ever take a shower in any terminal, but it is a step up. Now if Swift would provide actual shower attendants and towels and make sure the room was actually CLEAN when I went in, that might be a different story.

I fear the backbone of the company will never be that high on the list.

 

Moose, you would not happen to be the guy that owns a dollar store in Texas?

Removed passenger seat, for the extra large cooler with drain lines?

 

I have a Coleman cooler, and I need the passenger seat every summer when a daughter rides with me.
And no, I don't own a store - or even a car.

What ever gave you that strange notion?

 

I think we all should get together and request that Swift try and get a Redbox for each term, now that would really be great.

 

I'll stick with Netflix.
Better food options would be my choice for an upgrade.
