Point blank....whether or not you have a used truck or new truck....if you can't maintain your truck like it should be and warranty doesn't matter, you will still run yourself out of business because you neglected your business took to the point of no return....so again Maintenance is key..you don't do it...say goodbye..it's that simple...you have to take care of the equipment that essentially is running your business..

For the record for me buying a used truck I'm uncomfortable with after all the horror stories I've read and drivers I've talk to.
However that's buying a truck second hand... not knowing what it's been through.
My plan is IF my Kenworth serves me well over the 3 years I will buy it and see how that goes.
Buying a used truck ive driven and maintained since day 1 is more comfortable and logical of a decision for me than buying a used truck second hand. I dont wanna risk buying somebody else's problems.

That's great, nothing better than a reliable truck.. especially one that theres no big payments on.

was going to say the same thing......I do things to this truck because I think it needs to be done (last year I drained the transmission, rear end, and radiator and replaced all fluids.......not because there was anything wrong, but because it had about 700k on the clock I I thought it was about time.) Not paying $900 a week allows me to keep my truck in top condition.

This whole argument is silly and just going around in circles. Obviously both used and new have benefits to the individual business owner.

Ask yourself. Do you plan on paying your truck off? If the answer is yes... Do you plan on running with it or selling it and getting back into something new?

Either way you have to save your money to be successful. I don't really think there is a wrong answer

    Yeah it is silly lol.

    NEXT

Lets talk about how Schneider changed my workflo to bobtail of a customer instead of picking up an empty because and I quote "there are not enough empties for every driver coming in".

So screw over the driver coming in eariler in the day so to save empties for future drivers when the customer might have more unloaded by then? Thanks Schneider!

I'm still shocked that people think it's ultimately better to have a new truck with payments then a paid off one...
It's an automated message. If you see an empty call it in they'll put it on you
