####. You got a brand new truck. I'll be in my 2013 660 for at least 6 more months
CasanovaCruiser Thanks this. -
I've met a few drivers who give me #### for it when they find out I just started with Melton and I can't blame them honestly. It's all in good fun but I'd be bitter too.
Even with that I have noticed every single Melton driver ive met may as well be my brother after a few minutes of chatting. Everyone waves to each other on the road or walks over to your truck to say hi at a truck stop, and finding a million miler is extremely easy, it's been a week and I've spoken with 4 or 5 now. I take that as a good sign.Rollr4872 Thanks this. -
There's a terminal not to far from me just out of Dallas. How's the real average yearly pay there?
Just curious, recruiting doesn't always shoot so straight. -
If I could manage the consistency of my first week out for a whole year I'd be wayyy over that, but we all know how the OTR blues can bite back. -

Orientations is pretty easy really, show up early, do what they tell you to, and work hard.
Melton isn't afraid to send people home but if you're a hard worker, safe, and on time you're in. (pending a hair follicle test lol)Rollr4872 Thanks this. -
Here is something to think about . After requesting home time there are many times I get home 2 days early and they don't count that against you . However if you run a tight buget at home Consider that your not getting a check the next week .CasanovaCruiser Thanks this. -
This is 98 % the case . Don't get discoraged when you meet that 2 % . There are some really drivers who have a self important feeling and think there your boss. I just politely ignore them .
It really is suprising how many happy people work here . I came to Melton to get a year of experience before buying my own truck . But there are times I second guess that because we live pretty high on the hog for company drivers.Rollr4872 and CasanovaCruiser Thank this. -
Youre right that Melton isn't immune to the occasional conceited flatbed know it all. Even so, once you get them away from your load and talking about something else they've even turned out to be decent guys too.
