a 5 axle step deck or a 2 steering axle strait truck said on the cb radio , by the time the m2s meter goes off , you dont have enough time to put on the gas mask because your already dead. is that true?

Not true, I've had them go off before. It was always at a known h2s well, so I knew to keep an eye on the wind sock and get upwind. Never bothered with the mask.

    rabbiporkchop and BentleyB Thank this.

They usually set the monitors to go off at around 5-10 ppm which isn't fatal but 300-500 ppm will likely knock you down. 1000 ppm or higher is pretty much instant death.

If you're going to work in the patch educate yourself on Hydrogen Sulfide.

It will kill you. On the flip side of the coin thousands of people work in h2s conditions daily.

I listen on the cb radio to learn something from the water trucks talking and Baker Houghs well service gossip. I seen chevron signs on a fence around a well . Chesapeake energy pickup trucks around canton Ohio don't talk on the cb radio.much

There are signs around every well/facility because every time there's gas/oil h2s is a possibility

Get on youtube and search h2s training video
