We drive trucks, I would hope most policies involve said trucks. If you are running under SNI's authority, don't you think they should check to make sure you are operating safely? I have seen plenty of IC's that can benefit from extensive training.

I'd say a year with NO issues should be proof enough.

I have no issue if a driver needs it but to drive 150k miles per year with out incident would be proof enough.

But as long as I'm at SNI I'll comply doesn't mean I won't comment though.

First of all what you're saying about trailer moves... You are unequivocally absolutely wrong... I have not been forced to do any trailer moves to this day and if you do them because they are ordering you to then that's your deal

yeah the whole annual recertification is a joke.
A driver could have 30 years experience and 3 million safe miles but needs to be scheduled for a driving test yearly to make sure they didn't forget how to drive lol.

Experienced drivers don't get complacent and have incidents due to cutting corners?

Frankly this is one of the few industries where drivers don't get for their training once they get on their own... I should say continuing education as they call it, and believe me I've seen plenty of ICS over here that don't know how to drive worth a crap and I seen a lot of them with missing fairings on their trucks already, essentially saying look at me I don't know how to drive

So there you have it! In other words the yearly driving tests and quarterly safety videos didn't seem to help "plenty if ICs".

My point is.. to be a safe driver you must choose to and make an effort. No test or video can make you do that. Tests and videos are good and all for noobs that are learning.

Somebody that doesn't care.. still won't care after being forced to watch a safety video.
Obviously that's the case with what you've seem and I have seen as well.

Sure are drivers like that. There's also experienced drivers that got millions of safe miles just fine with no extra tests and videos.

After watching a safety video will that make a driver no longer get complacent ever again?

All I'm saying is tests and videos don't change poor attitudes of drivers that don't care.
Biggest problem I see aren't poor drivers it's drivers that don't care and are irresponsible by choice.
You can't get into Fedex by being a poor driver but yet they blow my doors going down twisty mountain roads all the time.
There's that story of that Walmart driver in the Tracy Morgan crash had not slept in 24 hours prior to the accident. No driving test could have prevented that... that's another irresponsible driver that doesn't care. etc etc

Maybe it will, maybe it wont, I don't know for sure. I can say unequivocally that training and videos won't hurt and cause accidents.
