Bill it's not a big deal at all. I have to remember next time I go to the shop to grab a diagram I have. It has each prong of the switch labeled with the use of it.

Might want to slow down on judging someone's skills.....

Its of course my opinion going off of what you original posted, I won't even begin to talk about my opinions of these so called ### certified mechanics we have today,
I love hearing them say ( I can't fix that it doesn't have anyway to plugin my computer) or ask what I use a Vom and idiot light for..
Then there was the guy that told me he was a certified mechanic and said we don't use tools like (IDIOT) lights.
Then wonder why nothing works or worse how they brunt there truck to the ground.
But that's just my humble opinion.
If you have to ask find someone to show you hands on. -

This is the basic set up on my 2001. This is looking at the rear of the switch. If any one has any more input, just post and I can add it to the diagram.
Dave_in_AZ, CJndaTruck and billandlori Thank this. -

All this could easily be sorted with a test light and a few minutes of time.....
Cetane+ Thanks this. -
Dave_in_AZ Thanks this.

If you have pre-wired spare switches, before you start running wires check on the drivers side frame rail under the sleeper. All my pre-wired switches have wires ran to that point and are zip tied to the inside of the rail.
Roadking96, j_martell and Cetane+ Thank this.
