It's free standing, the legs rest on the lip of the bed on both sides. The back wall edge of the bed is about 2" higher than the side closest to the tv, so the legs aren't the same length. I've built one for all the trucks I've had and it seems that is fairly common. The crazy zig zag on the one side is because my tv sticks over the bed about 6". I have about 8" of clearance under that portion and about 2' for my legs under the main portion.

So yeah, I was riding down the road earlier and I heard a loud pop, almost like a tire blowing, but not quite as loud. About 30 minutes later a similar sound again, but slightly quieter. I get to my final and do a walk around, pop my hood, check my tires, etc to see if I can figure out what the hell that sound was. I'm not 100% sure this is what made the sound, didn't realize it does, but it seems like a hell of a coincidence...anyway, my brand new steer tire I just put on a few weeks ago has a bubble in the sidewall. No marks like I bumped something at all, just about an inch wide and 4 inch long welt. So yay, I get to call Impact and try to get Michelin to warranty that in the morning.

That's why we buy those high dollar Michelin tires, so we don't have to deal with inferior crap. I had a Michelin steer do that once, but no noise. Some times an air to air boot will blow out or the clamp will break. Now that will give a loud pop. That has happened to me also

They told me if I felt safe I was ok to come make my pickup first, so I took it easy heading over here. There's a Speedco right around the corner, so once I'm loaded I'm going to take it over there. It looks like the outside liner is trying to separate from the inner wall and got some air in behind it. I dunno, but it's clearly a defect.

That sucks, I hope they give you enough extra to make it worth. I know they wont, but I hope they do.

Tomorrow's the big day, getting rid of my truck I've had almost 18 years and grabbing a 2012 Cascadia. Took me almsot two full days to clean out all the accumulated crap, never knew I was such a pack rat. In my earliest days of trucking when I started in household goods we move huge executive houses out in a day, but it took two for a truck.

Hoping they'll give me some leeway on the 15 days to get to LKY for inspection. I'm going to MATS and would like to get there just in time for inspection rather than just over a week ahead of time.

Thinking of the Tripac Evolution APU, anyone running one of those?
