Best of luck golfpro. You had a bad run of luck with this company and possibly a sign that this was not meant to be. I would not give up on trucking if you still have the desire for it but a new start is definitely called for anyway under the circumstances. When one door closes another always opens so keep your head up. It is obvious from your posts you are a smart guy and I believe that sometimes things happen for a reason that we don't understand so don't beat yourself up over it. From what you described I think you will be much better off somewhere else.

So just an update, I'm thinking about trying flatbeds with McElroy. They were my second choice. This week I've returned to my old golf job for four days, and I'm grateful to have the work, but I had to leave it in the first place because it didn't pay enough full-time to support a family. I think tankers are no longer possible for me at this time, as it appears only Schneider trains new tanker drivers, and they forbid contact lenses.

Superior Carriers has a terminal in Savannah. They typically hire new drivers. I run out of the Atlanta terminal for them.

The guy can't properly check and tighten his dome lid down. Move on to something easier. Flat bed might have to much responsibility.

Okay, so help me understand where I went wrong (besides not reporting the spill). I drove about 3 miles to a truck stop, got out and climbed aboard to check the tightness of the wingnuts. They were tight and no product was leaking out.

My understanding is I can't open a sealed dome lid until I got to the consignee, by which time three of the wingnuts had become loose and product was sloshing out. So what else was I supposed to do?

Something doesn't sound right. I'm not even reading other then you were fired but did you pre-trip the trailer? I've had a few gaskets that were basically warped and wouldn't fit in the dome lid before. So much so that when I was inspecting the tank after a clean it fell down in. Even after I retrieved it and instead of waiting for the tank wash I still got it to stay while holding each side and shutting the lid. Was it a risk? I'd say so. Did it leak no. And I checked a lot way more then any other time.

From what your saying is you check and there was no leaks? So why would it magically leak later? If it's going to leak it's going to leak and from what your saying sounds like your blowing smoke. I've had wing nuts come loose in transit but not the the point all of them and product was leaking out.

Why wouldn't you report it? It's not your fault? You explain the disputation at hand! you should report all leaks or spills! I had a horrible day this weak. Want to hear my story? Never had a leak or spill or anything until now and I probably would have got away with it and not reporting it as well....maybe.

I got to BASF and was to big for their fall protection harness. That sucked! But that's just the beginning. After the plant manager got haranessed up and went up top to connect the air line. I got every thing hooked up hoses, fittings, straps. He decides the air pressure gauge up top "isn't working" well he's obviously wrong because I'm on a down hill slightly with how the unloading pad is it needs time for pressure to build. He insisted it wasn't working and after a short period of time it jumped to 10psi and steadily climbed from there. He still insisted a new one be put on I was so pissed but he said shut it down and he would refuse the load until other wise.

Being a load from Canada that's not going to be acceptable. So after making some calls, unhooking everything I went and got it replaced. When I came back I was hooking up again and well I assume about a 20oz of it got into my hose. While I was pulling it off the rack the cap opened up and spilled all over me and very little on the ground. Luckily was just a rhoplex 2848 non hazmat. Wasn't much, trust me I piss more then this on a daily basis. The guys there were like it's ok we'll clean it up no big deal. I value my job so I reported it. Accidents happen, #### happens, I still have my job. And I doubt anyone will hire you for getting fired for no reporting a spill. Because what it comes down to is honesty and you basically sealed that up real quick with your decision.

So I would say learn to tell the truth, value your job, and report whatever happens. Good luck!

Schneider is a great place to get training and I worked for them for 3 years and wore contact lenses every day. Nobody checks that stuff.
