Monday evening I was delivering my load and knew when I got there I'd have about 1 hour on my 70. I said the heck with it I was going to just Bobtail home on line 5 because I had plenty on my 14 to do it but my 70 would be about 1 hour left.

I set my NAT,NAL for my house for Wednesday to get a reset in.

Monday morning I get a message to pick up an empty and take it 123 miles to drop at a customer and then go home.

I sent a msg to my ICR and told her I did not have the hours to drag an empty because my 70 would be down to 1 hour or so when I delivered.

2 hrs later she sends me a message, we show you have plenty of hours to deliver the empty and now to deliver it to knoxville.

I called in and said yes I have 4 hrs on my 70 but I've still got 3 hrs til I deliver and will not have the hours to deliver empty.

I went on to explain I did not book an empty move nor was I doing it.

I was then told that if I didn't have the hours to move the empty then I didn't have the hours to drive home, at which point I told her yes I will have the hours to bobtail on line 5 but not pull an empty on line 3.

She told me if I was out of my 70 I could not drive on line 5. Of course she's wrong but insisted they were not going to remove the box planners assigned shipment to me.

I stayed the night in KY and called in the am and told them to show me available where I was I would just book freight because I wasn't hauling their empty for free.

So another example of how they force you to do what they want you too.

So much for being and IC, just another driver paying to have a job......

They did away with the mileage program so now they'll just keep dropping the rate per mile until it's worse than the cpm. Program was. At least on the mileage program you were paid deadhead even if it was the shortest miles.

They've taken a really good program and drove it into the ground.

I think their going to make it like every other program out there.

It was this way, when I first started. You book it you own it. People where booking loads knowing they wasn't going to run them. Also, girlfriend and wives were booking loads. They sometime don't consult there husbands on how many hours they have on there clock.

It's funny looking back when everyone was telling us and most were believing that with the new contract NOTHING would change.

Who's better off today than they were last year this time on the choice board.....

I told ya they'd do these things.....
