Correct me if I'm wrong but arent the rules that they can only MAKE you (by order of fine) shuttle empties around if you book your next load 100+ miles away from last consignee or your deadhead to go out of service (aka home) is 100+ miles away from last consignee.
Also you can refuse without fine to shuttle an empty in that situation (going out of service 100+ miles) if when you return to service that you deadhead back to that previous market to get an empty before doing your first load.
I dont recall reading anywhere that we HAVE TO shuttle anything around unless in those scenarios and even then we dont have to but risk getting fined.
That's the way i read the agreement, if that's wrong please point out how/where in that form we signed.
Changing again, the rules change but we're not told til after.

Idk I guess maybe I'm lucky but I've only did one empty move going home and that was last week.. Only reason being the load went from being a drop to live unload so I had to drag it... Usually I drop 100 miles or less from home so I'll never have that issue because I just won't do it.. Per the contract lol.. @freightwipper ive seem some of the rates at Landstar lately. They are better than what we're being fed here trust me
freightwipper Thanks this. -

If you can prove it to me i might leave and go there.
My friend at Landstsr quit a couple months ago because things got so bad. I dont know rates there since then. -
CaptainDaveG, Home_on_wheels and TennMan Thank this.

According to SNI I had to either do the empty move or book freight, if I didn't do the empty move they were not going to remove it which in turn I wouldn't be able to book freight anyways.
I could've just did the assignment on the qualcomm and never moved the empty but I try and follow the rules.
And to boot when they changed it from dropping at a customer 123 miles to dropping at the knox drop lot 99 miles.
They didn't even NEED a trailer moved they just wanted the IC to move it for free and save the cost of a company driver doing it.
It's proof to me THEY just wanted the IC to move a trailer even though I was not under load or even pre planned.
How does that happen IF I'm supposed to be an IC.
I bet the other contracted labor doesn't have to do extra work for free such as the cleaning crews or the outside vendors they use.
Sorry rant over......dog-c, PoleCrusher and Home_on_wheels Thank this. -

I have a lot of respect for you guys. NO WAY I could put up with that crap. Nothing about that is being an Independent Owner Operator. Cant do this, cant do that.dog-c, scottlav46, taxihacker66 and 3 others Thank this. -
All i will say is when when they try BS like that on me I whip out their own "rules" i signed off on and call them out. Then they have no choice.taxihacker66 and whoopNride Thank this. -
I got a fleet message regarding the no removal of loads policy a few days ago. I think with the new ability to insert shipments, ICs started booking way out thinking they would find something to fill in, and when it didn't work out, they started getting a bunch of calls to get loads pulled.
It did say if a load cancels or is changed in such a way as to effect other freight you can have your other loads pulled.
They should put an option on the portal to be able to remove a load if its 72 hrs out.
